Overall the stay was very comfortable; the bed was good, the facilities were good and the service (especially for the breakfast) was great! The extensive and luxurious breakfast got rolled in on a cart. The reception was also very hospitable; we got vlaai and something warm to drink.

I was there the days before Christmas.
I was there the days before Christmas. The village was charmingly decorated with lights. Perfect bus connections to Maastricht and Heerlen. Beautiful surroudings (with hills) for hikes, and a lovely evening stroll through the center. I also went to the nearby Triangle border where Holland meets Germany and Belgium: within a few seconds you are in a different country haha. And very special: you are at the highest point of the Netherlands! I definitely want to come back soon and rent a bike and cruise through the beautiful nature. And I want to visit the museum. Oh, and the market on Tuesday morning. And not to forget: taste the typical 'Limburgse vlaai'. Yummy!

Vaals is a nice clean town with plenty of places to eat.
Vaals is a nice clean town with plenty of places to eat. Some of the more recent development there has spoilt it a little but there is some great walking from there and it is very popular with cycling enthusiasts. The frequent bus services to nearby Aachen and beautiful Maastricht make it a place where you can leave the car behind.

The welcome was excellent, the rooms were very comfortable and big and a very fair price. We were surprised that the restaurant was greek, the menu being excellent and a welcome ouzo didn't go amiss! The restaurant and hotel staff were all personable. The continental breakfast was very good to send us on our way. We arrived a little late and the restaurants close by were all closed. Luckily the hotel has a pub/bar with drinks and food. That was easy for us. There is lots of greenery around.
