The room was huge. The bath was fantastic and the bed was perfect for my back.

We highly recommend staying in Wolyeongchae. The owner Sugi is very nice and helpful. She arranged the house in a very comfortable way (as the pictures already suggest) and it's very clean and neat. Sugi provides many necessities like water, tea, coffee etc. and she gives you advice on places to visit. The location of the house is close to the center and bus stop right outside. It's quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed the coffee in the mornings sitting outside the house. If we come to Andong again, then we would definitely stay there for another time.
Situated in Andong and within 3.9 km of Andong Folk Museum, Eoulim House has a garden, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi.

We stayed near the centre of Andong for one night and this was the perfect base to explore from, as it is only a few minutes walk from the main centre of the city. Andong is quite difficult to explore without a car but we found that the guest house was reasonably walkable to the main attraction of Andong folk village - around an hour on flat ground. Taxi from Hahoe village, where we started the previous night was around £20. We were met outside the guesthouse and were warmly greeted and introduced to the facilities such as wifi and refrigerated water. The room was in an ondol style and was very cosy with a wooden interior and a comfy bed. The bathroom was in wet room style with a shower above the sink, the ceilings are low in the bathroom but the water pressure was good and it did not feel cramped. Check in and check out were straightforward and accessing the property at any time was simple.
Situated in Andong, the recently renovated Kims House Andong features accommodation 5.9 km from Andong Folk Museum and 14 km from Bongjeongsa.

A whole Hanok to yourself. Cosy and lovingly decorated by the owner who is very helpful and thoughtful. They even took the trouble to message us about a fun local festival that we couldn’t find on Google or Naver.

We chose to visit Andong mainly to visit Hahoe hill village but decided to spend an extra night there to see the Andong folk village and the surrounding areas, as well as the Soju museum and the restaurants located more centrally. It is a large city by area and on reflection, it may have been useful to have a car, however, the taxis were very reasonably priced through NAVER and also reliable, which made getting between the often spread out tourist attractions relatively easy.

Andong itself doesn't really have any major tourist attractions, it's a place to sleep before or after visiting Hahoe folk village. It's a calm, pleasant city to spend a day or even two though,

We will only able to see some of the sights we planned to see because of transport difficulties. Some of the sites were more than an hour by bus from our hotel. Also, one of the sites, Imcheonggak House was under renovation and we could not visit. The chief attraction is the Andong Hahoe Folk Village and the adjacent Mask Museum. For those of you who are interested in soju, there is a Soju and Traditional Korean Food museum.

Andong is a bit of a smaller city, but its motto is the "Cultural Center of Korea," so that gives you some idea of what it has to offer. It has some famous attractions like Hahoe Village, the light-up bridge, and a musical fountain that's worth seeing at night. It has a good choice of restaurants, and though unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to eat Andong's famous Jjindak dish, there were plenty of restaurants offering this choice along Restaurant Alley. The city bus in Andong is very easy to hop on and ride, and I recommend using Naver or Kakao Maps to get where you need to. It's a lovely city for a shorter trip, maybe a max of four to five days, to see everything this city has to offer.

Andong is a small city that is a breath of fresh air and change of pace from the larger cities. We visited the folk village, a very nice temple with well kept gardens, and a bath house. Outside of downtown the towns are small, but of course they all have great food and noraebangs.
The major downside is the bus schedule, outside of downtown buses are infrequent and stop running before 8PM. Taxis may or may not be willing to take you to further destinations, and you may or may not be willing to pay to get as far as you might need to go.

Wonderful place if you are really interested in traditional...
Wonderful place if you are really interested in traditional Korean culture, both local (folk mask dance in Ha Hoe village, the old village itself, old streets with picturesque houses, wooden bridge, fine local food) and universal (Confucian academies and schools, Confucian prints museum, Buddhist temples, Catholic church),
The room size! It was enormous, very comfortable. The beds had hard matresses but we like them that way so we slept well. The receptionist gave as a map with bus schedule and near interesting places - very practical! We would have a huge problem without this schedule. Be aware that buses are often late, sometimes run once per hour and finish service early.
We could refill our bottles in the reception with fresh cold water.
Hotel is a little old, but location and size made up for that for us.
We love the heritage house. We understand the proprietor is the 9th generation owner. The hanok maintained its character and therefore was a truly authentic experience. The breakfast spread, which we had in a separate dining room, was wonderful. Traditional and delicious.
Located in the Hahoe village also meant it was easy to explore the village on foot.
The owner was also very sweet and helpful and went the extra mile for us many times. Thank you!
It is a roof over your head with a mattress for your back. You pay for what you get and (with the exception of breakfast) nothing more. This being said: It is a perfectly reasonable and cheap place to spend the night (we arrived late and left early in the morning to Hahoe village).
Breakfast is also an added bonus. It is simple, with sliced bread and a toaster, jam, cereal, milk, juice, and a nice woman does a good fried egg.
The property is a traditional house, well kept and the proprietor is friendly and helpful. The proprietor spoke English which was also a bonus. He provided a breakfast that included cheese toast, apple and honey cakes. We also had chrysanthemum tea. During daylight hours there is a bus that goes from Andong to the house. The mattresses were very traditional and firm, so possibly not suitable for someone who likes soft beds.
The location is great for central Andong. Lots of shops and restaurants around. There are 2 convenience stores close by. You can take a bus easily to hahoe hanok village. It's also not too far from the train station. The rooms are spacious and generally clean. (Deluxe twin room) I like the sofa and little table. Huge TV. The staff were pleasant and check in was really simple.
Comfortable clean room, simple but good breakfast and nice staff. They have cute cats roaming/sleeping in the cafe area where they also sell nice stationaries and souvenirs.
Location is bit far from the centre but close to Andong train and bus station which was my priority. No problem getting around with public transport to the centre and Hahoe Folk Village.
It was really great stay. We chose Korean style room, and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. I wish we have stayed one more night in Andong to explore the city and cuisine, but in limited time we have focused only on Hahoe Folk Village (which was a highlight in our trip). Breakfast was good, and folks running the hostel friendly.
Best place to stay in Andong, historical pavillon structure immersed in the nature on the river walk, with a great view of the Hahoe village. Extremely quiet and comfortable. Superb typical breakfast served in a private dining room.
The owner Ryu was extremely helpful and kind in assisting me in my travel schedule.
The hotel is very near the centre of the town. Please note that the railway station shown near the hotel on maps is permanently closed. Andong train station (and bus terminal) is approximately 20 minutes by local bus from the town centre. Ask in the station Tourist Information for local bus information.
The host is fantastic, he spoke great English and gave me recommendations on my itinerary, as well as help with the bus schedule. The house is beautiful, and the stay felt more like staying at someone's home than a hotel
Nice clean and large hotel rooms close to Hahoe Village and the Andong Paper Factory. Staff were helpful and great at organising taxis for us, a group of 6 people. Close to a great coffee shop and Chinese restaurant
Kim was very welcoming and her place is very lovely. Everything was clean and surpassed our expectations. She gave us some tips and we could enjoy our stay in Andong even more because of our stay.
Friendly place, the hostess helps you to get you from A to B as all the interesting places in Andong are far apart. A traditional house with a very comfortable bed and modern shower facilities .
The location is good in new developed area of Andong. Very close to Andong Hua Wu historical site. There are a lot of restaurant near the hotel which provide plenty of dinner choices.
Very spacious room. Quiet location, but very close to transport (bus), traditional market and food options. Friendly staff. Room temperature was always pleasant.
