Very conveniently located. Right outside the JR Kinosakionsen station, 5 minutes walk. The Onsens are also walking distance. A simple breakfast of toast, hard boiled eggs and yoghurt was provided. It sits above a cafe, so on google maps it’ll lead you to the cafe. The town is very lively in the day, but most stores close at 5pm, although the Onsens are open till 11pm.

Great cozy room with tatami mats. Slept very comfortably. The location is great, close to onsens and food store right outside. Host was fantastic, very friendly and kind, and knowledgeable about the area.

The town is really cute with lots of great shops and the onsen at the hotel was super relaxing. There were a lot of children at the public onsen so we decided to skip most of them and felt the one night we stayed was enough

Kinosaki Onsen is such a charming town.
Kinosaki Onsen is such a charming town. After spending a week running around cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, it was nice to unwind in a small town that was very self-contained but also had some nice outdoor activities like exploring Mt. Daishi, in addition to the 7 public baths.

If you love onsens and seafood, this is the perfect place to go unwind and dine. Kinosaki Onsen is a small, photogenic town that feels more like a neighborhood. There are many kinds of restaurants, but especially crab seems to be the hit here, with shops that sell them right out on the street.
Tip: a few websites offer real-time percentages of how busy any onsen in the area is.

we stayed at Yamamotoya Ryokan, Kinosaki Onsen for one night which was too short.
overall Kinosaki Onsen is a gem of a village. It is picture perfect and with lots of "protected" traditional Japanese wooden frame homes.
You travel back in time ! old houses, people on yukatas and clogs, a small stream passes thru the middle of town with willow trees. few vehicles and few locals on roads, a typical tourist village.
The best time to enjoy the atmosphere and ambience - dusk. Esp with the street lights and lights from the roadside buildings
My Ryokan is fantatstic - we visited during shoulder season and prices were great. Will come again in autumm 2024. there are extra costs to be paid for public onsen but well worth.
Tried 4 public onsen which was awesome - cave onsen, outdoor onsen facing a mountain stream, outdoor onsen. The morning public bath was less busy with few users while the evening baths was very busy, My choice of onsen was Gohsonronyu, outdoor facing a trees and mountain stream and the cave onsen. kinosaki is technically an ONSEN village.
we dropped our luggage to be delivered to hotel opposite the train station. went exploring the village and used the cable car to offer prayers to the village onsen guardian. everywhere is within walking distance

Kinosaki is a wonderful place to be in.
Kinosaki is a wonderful place to be in. However, it can get a bit touristy during some months. We went in September which is considered the low season, yet we felt that there were too many people around. However =, it is still the best onsen town in the Kansai region.
Staff was very friendly helpful, lots of personal touches that made us feel very welcome. Particularly Ayuri who showed us our room and explained how to use the onsen, she even taught us how to eat shabu-shabu at dinner. The dinner and breakfast services were delicious. The hotel has private baths available that are good for couples. We stayed in a traditional tatami mat room which was a cool experience and very comfortable.
Ryokan Tsubakino location is almost central towards the Kinosaki Onsen district but yet still hidden in the quiet side of the whole town area, which made it a perfect location to stay. With its central point, walking to the town's famous onsens are manageable.
Food provided by the hotel, Breakfast and Dinner Kaiseki Menu were superb and very fresh as well, thoroughly replenished our day.
On site Onsen is perfect as less crowded that visiting one of the 7 in central town. Breakfast was great and wish we had booked dinner previous night. Hotel staff make your bed of an evening so be mindful of this. Hotel offers courtesy bus to/from town, dropping you off wherever you need to go. We only used this facility once as it only takes 15 mins to walk anyway.
Excellent hotel with good location. Close to almost every public onsens.
The staff welcomed us very well. If you arrive before check-in time, you can leave your luggage and take a walk around the city.
The dinner was excellent. It's worth a try.
Breakfast is just a simple menu.
Overall, it was a very good experience. We will definitely stay here again.
Absolutely wonderful stay! The hotel is tucked away in a quiet nature setting with charm, comfort, and beautiful atmosphere. The manager Naoko goes beyond and above to make sure you enjoy your stay. Free shuttle to downtown for easy access to all the hot springs is provided. I would prefer this hotel over the ones located in the city center.
Even though we couldn't get a reservation for the hotel's dinner or breakfast, the staff kindly gave advice for other nearby options.
All of the staff were super kind and bilingual.
Also the use of the umbrellas, geta and yukata, bags for our bath stuff and the pass for the baths helped to offset the price of the room.
The hotel staff is nice. You can drop off your bag and staff will guide you where to park your car. They will drive you to the car park and send you back at the hotel. Similarly, when you check out, there is a hotel van to send you to car park. There is yukata and basket provided for hopping the onsen.
The staff were very attentive and helpful and the decor in hotel was modern and comfortable. I liked the free coffee machine in the shared space and the washing facilities were useful. There is a nice walk up to the crater of Mount Kannabe just behind the hotel.
Even if the hotel looks a bit old and trying to look modern on the outside, the room was spacious, super clean, very charming and comfortable. The staff is great, going the distance to help. The onsen is good yet needs a good scrub.
Lovely staff, very good check-in with useful information. The room was bigger than other hotels in Japan and looked traditional. Ability to book a private onsen at their facility was very nice. Close to the train station.
The hosts were very welcoming and treated me like family. Dinner and breakfast were traditional kaiseki, and It was amazing. Overall I had an amazing experience. The hotel was near the onsens. Incredible time at morizuya
very clean and minimalist
close to train station
amazing staffs
very good breakfast and coffee
they can keep your luggage before and after check in
cafe has foot bath, lovely atmosphere
cheaper than other hotels nearby
The breakfast is good and yummy, especially the bread.
We have tajima steak course for dinner, which is superb. The beef is high quality tajima beef. The hotel is in the walking distance to JR station.
The hotel owner was nice and informative. The room was clean and nice with tranditional japanese style. 5 to 10 min walk to the station and onsens. I enjoyed my stay and this hotel is highly recommend.
Breakfast was nice served in the room. Hotel is really nice and traditional. There are also Green Tea Ceremony by hotel’s owner mom. It was impressive.
Thank you and hope to visit again :)
Nice place to stay with regular shuttles back and forward between the main street and hotel. Dinner was lovely - didn't have breakfast so not sure what that included.
