My young daughter and I really enjoyed our stay! There was a mix of businessmen and travellers but at the time we were the only westerners. We felt very comfortable and safe here and really enjoyed the roof top hot spring! Such a perfect way to end the day.

Fukui has plenty of local cuisine such as Europe-ken Headquarters' pork cutlets and seasonal seafood bounties along the Echizen coastline which we enjoyed. We also attended a Washi paper workshop art routine which is a wonderful experience at short notice. The unassuming hospitality of the people whom we met there is also a plus factor for us during our tour in Tojinbo area and at our stay in Minshuku Inn. We shall certainly be planning a return trip in the future in another season such as the Autumn period. Thanks to Mr Iwase our attentive host during our 2 nights stay.

Fukui is worth visiting in sakura season as their hundreds of cherry blossom trees that line the river are spectacular - in the day time but also lit up at night. The Tojinbo coast line, dinosaur museum and Eiheiji temple are worth a visit but these are out the city. All accessible by train/bus if you don't have a car. I loved being by the sea in the Tojinbo area.

Less known but a good place to relax and know japanese culture. I loved Fukui Osagoe Minka Garden. I enjoied Ichijōdani Asakura Family Historic Ruins 一乗谷朝倉氏遺跡 and Ono City (where there is a very nice italian pizza restaurant).. I enjoied tojinbo and all the trekking from mikuni minato train station and to oshima island. Also a big thing is Eiheiji Temple. you can also have a day trip to kanazawa or kyoto from fukui
