Gorgeous flat in a classic villa near the Ionian sea! Sparkling clean and with everything you require, including air conditioning in the bedroom, two showers (one in the bathroom, one on the enclosed patio), a washing machine and full kitchen facilities. The host, Claudia, is very helpful and welcoming and is always on hand if you need anything. I felt very well supported during my stay, which was especially important given I was travelling alone and hadn't been to Salento before. The street is friendly and safe with nice neighbours and easy access to the rock beach, which is generally quiet, especially in the early morning and the evening. Life is definitely easier if you have a car, and Torre San Giovanni itself isn't hugely pedestrian-friendly -- however, I don't drive and I still had a really lovely time at the house and the nearby beach with the odd excursion into town. It helps a lot that there's a great bar and a small well-stocked supermarket a few minutes' walk away. The buses to and from Lecce depart from Corso Annibale, which is practically on the doorstep. All round, this was a great stay for me and I am already planning my next visit.

The stuff was very friendly and helpful. We had several friends who stayed in Torre San Giovanni in other places and we had the best value for our money. A beach was crossing the street and by car you reached many beautiful places in few minutes or great cities like Lecce or Gallipoli in less than an hour. We would return at any time to la Giara Resort.
