The town of Ortisei is a very typical Sud-Tirolean Alpine with lots of wood in use throughout the town for building and local wood carvers. It is a very quiet and peaceful town. Up the road Selva is a more geared towards younger people with lots of apres-ski bars and outdoor music events and bars etc. If you are up for a quiet and relaxing stay, which has lots of nice restaurants and shops, this is it.

The place is excellent — it was my 4th ski travel to this area (Ortizei, Selva di val Gardena), the only huge issue is that there is no direct connections from major airports — Milano, Bergamo, Verona (you could make from one of those). If you don't rent a car — the travel is ridiculous long and require several connections. Comparing to Andorra — there is regular direct bus connection right from the Barcelona airport to Andorra and across Andorra cities+villages (busses and shuttles). I don't understand why this area did not organised something like that, because you built HUGE ski infrastructure and made it complicated to reach it by travellers.

Ortisei is fine to overnight there, but what is much better is to use cable car and to go up to the mountains around. And not only in Ortisei but also in Santa Catarina and Selva...
This is really unforgettable.

Ortisei is a very cousy little village.
Ortisei is a very cousy little village. The main street is packed with shops and restaurants. Everything is within walking distance and there's plenty of choices. Not too crowded, but not a ghost town either. Just perfect for a laid back family vacation.

This hotel exceeded all expectations.
This hotel exceeded all expectations. The staff was top notch, all areas were very clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Wonderful breakfast with excellent service and amenities. I highly recommend Hotel Albion and look forward to another visit in the future.
The best hotel in our entire honeymoon trip in italy. The hotel was strategically located in ortisei town, and they provided us with mobile gardena card for free. We used the swimming pool, sauna, and infrared cabin, it was great and clean. We somehow did not manage to try the steambath as am not sure how to work it. The receptionists are very helpful and able to speak fluent english. The buffet breakfast was really good and we like it, italian and some cereals to cater international tourists. Their waitresses were super friendly as well.
The room was spacey and comfortable with daily cleaning. There was a great view from the window (photo attached). In the night, we closed windows with blackout shades. There was enough privacy and we never heard other guests or hosts.
The location is really great. 10 min walk to the Ortisei center or 5 minutes by bus - the bus stop is right behind the house. There was a place to park a car, the ski/snowboard room. Breakfast was quite rich in variety, and good in terms of food quality. Great value for money! I totally recommend it!
I would highly recommend this accommodation! The location was perfect. There was an amazing view from the balcony. The accommodation was 2BR/2BA, with a kitchen. This is the perfect location to explore Seceda and Alpe do Siusi; cable cars for both are short walks from the apartment. Additionally, the entire accommodation is very well crafted and clean. I can’t imagine having a better accommodation. Girard was an excellent host.
I am from United States; this profile says Italy.
Beautiful garden with heated swimming pool.
The food was excellent and the wait staff very attentive. We went with half board as they offered us a good deal on dinner. We had a car but we ended up taking the local bus into the village to avoid the hassle of parking. We got a free bus pass at the reception. We could have walked as the village is about a 10 minute walk.
All in all our experience at this hotel was first rate and the resort town of ortesei is spectacular.
A nice, very clean, family owned hotel with many nice touches in the common areas to make it comfortable and homey. Claus & his staff are friendly, courteous, and attentive. The beds are comfortable (nice comforters!), the bathrooms clean & modern. Location is great; 10 minute walk to the center of Ortisei. One of the areas cable cars is just as close.
This was my first time visiting the Dolomites, and I couldn't have picked a better hotel & city in which to stay.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay and Josefine, the owner, was incredibly kind & helpful - she helped us map out our hikes at breakfast!
Garni Halali is quiet and peaceful but very close to great hikes including the Alpe de Suisi & Seceda. Plus, only a short walk to the village of Ortisei or you can jump on the bus which runs quite regularly just outside of the hotel.
A lovely experience for our first time in the Dolomites, we will definitely be back!
Breakfast was FANTASTIC - best we had in Italy. The hosts were so friendly and knowledgeable, and were so kind about our lack of speaking Italian. We had some great conversations through google translate. We learned a lot about the area and things to do, and the room was better than described with a spacious bedroom, bathroom, and even a sitting room! I cannot wait to visit the Dolomites again in the future and stay here again.
The owner is really kind, he wants to help and give tips so that your stay is enjoyable. The location is close to the centre of Ortisei, it is a bit up the hill but via the garden you can go to / from the city without having to walk uphill. The kitchen looked brand-new and was super complete. We were here in summer, but I can imagine the location would be perfect for a winter (ski)trip too.
The location is very nice although you probably won’t walk to the Ortisei town center. The apartment itself is brand new, very tastefully and luxuriously furnished. Very stylish. Also impeccably clean. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need. The washer and the dryer are available in the ski room. The owners are very nice couple and we enjoyed meeting them.
Hotel La Cort exceeded our expectations. Every detail is thought through: from lighting in the room to shuttle to the skiing area. Breakfast was exceptional with fresh juices and tasty food (both sweet and salty). Afternoon buffet is a good alternative for dinner, however, hotel also shared a lot of useful recommendations about restaurants around.
Staff: The owner is really great and kind like mom
Room: Wooden room, very comfortable and clean
Location:close to the bus stop
Breakfast: Very delicious and many varies food
Service: This hotel gave us the free ticket for sauna and pool near Ortisei central
I’m pretty sure I’ll visit again near future!
Location: very close to both lifts in Ortisei (5-10 minutes of walking), lots of nice shops and restaurants around.
Marie-Laure was very nice and helpful
Ski-room is great, with individual lockers
Spacious garage (for those travelling by car)
Beautiful View through the window
The breakfast was great in the morning and the location was just outside of the Ortisei downtown. There was a bus stop right outside the hotel and they gave us bus tickets so it was perfect for getting around. We had two rooms and they were connecting with wonderful views.
The room is clean and cozy, Mr&Mrs Quenz are super nice, recommended us restaurants and shared homemade cake with us! The view from the house is amazing! Only 10mins walk from the center. Would like to stay there again if I travel back to Ortisei.
The hotel is charming. The location of is perfect for easily accessing two cable cars by a short walk. The village of Ortisei is lovely with a variety of restaurants and shopping. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Lovely quiet family run hotel, convenient walk into town. Very clean, excellent breakfast with lots of choice.
Very helpful friendly staff. Thank-you for a wonderful stay!
The location, attention to detail, customer service, and food! Everything was amazing! The hotel is super nice and people who work there are very kind. Highly recommend!
Excellent staff; comfortable, free of charge transport from the hotel to the ski lifts; infinity, outdoor swimming pool; good food; nice and clean rooms
