We went to Lucera specifically to meet extended family for the first time. Lucera is a beautiful little town, not at all "touristy" or frequented by Americans. It is located in the beautiful Italian countryside, about 4 hours southeast of Rome.
As we found in all of the cities we visited in Italy, the food was spectacular---everything is very freshly prepared.
Lucera's center is quite small, so very walkable.

It’s a nice city.
It’s a nice city.
The historical center it’s the main attraction. There are a lot of restaurants and shops.
Also if you like to visit you can go and see the medieval castle, the Cathedral and many other places.
Anna and Augusta’s was on a quiet street away from the honking of horns and masses of people. The room was comfortable. Every morning a breakfast was ready for us at the time we picked. Homemade cakes, breads, fruit and cappuccino for both of us. The host Giuseppe and his sister catered to our needs.
Giuseppe is very knowledgeable about Lucera and took us to places most visitors never see. His stories kept us interested and informed. We hope to return to Lucera in the future and would definitely stay with him again.
The breakfast offered a wonderful choice of different foods, including meats, eggs, fresh fruits, croissants, breads, yogurts, and sweets. The host's daughter, Laura, attended us at breakfast and was always accommodating with our multiple requests for cappuccino or cafe americano.
The hotel's location was ideal. Although the main entrance was situated at a busy roundabout, the rooms were not noisy, and the hotel's rear door led out to Lucera's center.
Lianhome B & B is ideally situated in the historic centre of Lucera close to the main piazza and plenty of good restaurants. We had no trouble finding free parking near the B & B. The Italian breakfasts were generous and tasty. The local bread is excellent. The house has been renovated to a very high standard and everything worked perfectly. The under-floor heating was fabulous. Lianhome was the perfect place to explore Lucera from.
Giuseppe was absolutely the best hotel proprietor I've ever had the good fortune to meet. He drove us everywhere in Lucera, the police department, the cemetery, the coffee shop. He helped us try to find information on my husband's relatives who were from Lucera. He spent nearly the whole day with us! He also drove us to the train station the morning we left. His breakfast was great and the room was spotlessly clean.
The place with the nice view to the valley and the castello. All the set of the property with a lot of good taste, nice breakfast with fresh local products. A quiet place but very close to walk on the city center of Lucera. And of course the most important the warm welcome of the owner, her suggestions for good restaurants and her willingness to help us in everything.
Thank you
Our stay at the Masseria nel sole was great! We especially enjoyed the use of the swimming pool, the tranquility and the spacious, cool room. The staff were very welcoming and attentive to our needs.
It was very relaxing returning to this secluded corner outside Lucera after a long hot day's sight seeing tour.
Perfect choice in the center of charming Lucera and practically in front of the museo civico under an arch in a very quiet part of the city!!! Clean, modern with everything you need and even for a family that wishes to cook or wash... I totally recommend it for a short or long visit in lucera and the region!!!
Lucera is a hidden treasure as is the host of this lovely BnB. Everything is excellent. Clean, comfortable, spacious and beautifully catered.
It is close to the historic centre and Peppi was a generous tour guide. We highly recommend a stay.
The location is in the middle of the Old Town, a large room with , kitchen and a small bathroom, a second floor as a bedroom. We had a very nice time in Lucera and the appartement was all o.k. Parking near by was possible.
Breakfast was good, savoury and sweet options. Good pool. Very dog friendly. Pleasant staff. Comfortable beds. Good location in country side outside Lucera, which is a great town. Padel courts were fun.
Amazing location. The rooms are really beautiful and clean, with balcony and an amazing view.
Breakfast is included. Also you can serve the dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and it’s delicious.
A convenient place in the center of the old town itself. Welcoming, comfortable kitchen. Thanks for the welcoming coffee! Everything was convenient and transparent. Recommend!
The location was out of town, and we enjoyed the serenity and the views. The hotel was exceptional, and we had an upgraded room! The venue and restaurant were both fab!
Great host, very king and welcoming. We felt right at home. The place is beautiful and very confortable.
It is very well located and Lucera is a city worth visiting!
