Við Lónið Guesthouse, hotel in Seyðisfjörður

Set in a characteristic wooden house, Við Lónið Guesthouse is an accommodation in Seyðisfjörður.

Clean, comfortable room with a beautiful and unique view of the fjord! The room was very cosy. We stayed here 3 days due to bad weather which prevented us from leaving (our booking was for one night only) and Maggy was lovely with us!!! Every day she came by to ask if we needed anything and provided us with coffee and chocolate. She kept us updated on the road situation and gave us advice on where to eat and what to do. I highly recommend everyone to stay are here!!! Thanks again Maggy!!!

Picturesque small fishing village and cultural arts center with great restaurants, hiking, and boat tours. Very walkable. A must visit, if you're in the East! Bring your camera, the photo ops are endless!

This town is a bit over rated in my opinion.

This town is a bit over rated in my opinion. There is almost nothing there. The setting is nice, but we stayed in a town called Siglufjordur up north is much prettier and had a lot more to offer, so I would skip this one and head up there.

This is a great place to stay for a couple of days.

This is a great place to stay for a couple of days. The town is small but charming, and there a multiple day hikes close by. If you are doing the ring road, this might be a nice spot for two nights to rest up a bit. You might catch a glimpse of the Faroe Islands/Denmark Ferry that comes in once a week. Breakfast options are limited, however there is a little bakery in the supermarket that has wonderful fresh baked bread and goods.

This is a pleasant town in a strikingly beautiful location...

This is a pleasant town in a strikingly beautiful location between mountains and a fjord. Apart from the surrounding beauty, the town is tranquil (out of season) and very walkable. We understand that things heat up during the summer season. There are a handful of restaurants and a well-stocked supermarket. During working hours the town suffers from strong fishy odors coming from the local fish processing factory. In short, it is a must-see stop on any tour of Iceland.

Seydisfjordur was a picture perfect village.

Seydisfjordur was a picture perfect village. We ate at two of the restaurants and the food was delicious. We enjoyed a local hike. And being fans of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" we enjoyed seeing the filming locations in this town.

A small town of the beaten path that is just lovely.

A small town of the beaten path that is just lovely. Our only problem is that we didn't have enough time to explore the town and surrounding area. We would have added a second night if we had the chance to do it again.

We decided to make the 20 minute drive off the road ring and stay here for one night and we weren’t disappointed. The drive was beautiful and the town is picturesque and charming. The property has one bedroom and bathroom downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs (one with a queen and one with two twin beds). The kitchen is simple but fills all basic needs. The laundry is shared and not a big washing machine but I was able to wash 8 items or so. Iceland is so beautiful. Enjoy!

It was in the center of town right on the water. Since it is Winter, not much staff. The lady at check in was extremely helpful. We had to check in at the Hotel Aldan which has several hotels including ours. It was a tiny little village.Walking distance to food. The drive alone is certainly incredible! The road goes up the mountain and down the other side toward the town.

The beautiful location, the place of the house opposite to the nice little village Seydisfjördur. The view is absolutely outstanding.Check-in was easy. Good living room size and great amenities. Hot tub with lovely view is the best! This is perhaps the best stay during the 8 night and 6 different Apartment/hotel/Cottages in Iceland!

Excellent!!!! This is the most clean hostel I've been so far in Iceland, compared to the rest.. Wonderful town & will make sure to book this place ahead of time in the future. Its the only place also I had a decent night sleep. I don't know if that's the ambience of the place itself or because no one is finally snoring :)

Oh my goodness the view. And the sound of waterfalls all around. What a beautiful setting, and a quick walk to Seyðisfjörður for groceries and dining. This is the one place we stayed in Iceland that makes us want to return and stay a month! It was also nice to have a grill.

Well located right in Seyðisfjörður. Our unit (white door to the left of the main entrance, no number) had a fully-stocked kitchen, which was a pleasant surprise. We cooked both dinner and breakfast. Quiet when we were there (October)
