Hótel Laugarbakki, hotel in Laugarbakki

In Midfjordur, midway between Reykjavik and Akureyri, is Hótel Laugarbakki. Stay close to one of Iceland’s best salmon rivers and the natural hot springs, which heat up the entire community.

Looks nothing from the outside but this hotel is amazing, beautiful large room and bathroom with all amenities. Ladies on the desk were very helpful and food in the restaurant was lovely The tea and coffee station is an added bonus filling your cup up before you leave for your drive

Brekkulækur Guesthouse, hotel in Laugarbakki

Located away from the hustle and bustle in a beautiful river valley in northwest Iceland, this family-run guest house is 20 minutes’ drive from the village of Hvammstangi.

We got late checking in. The owner of the Villa was extremely rude. Both the husband and wife were so rude to us. They kept complaining to us how we were late to check in. We felt like we were living at the property for free. They treated is like third world citizens. They have no manners and don't know how to take care of guests or be hospitable. I would never treat my enemy like this.

Hotel Hvammstangi Guesthouse, hotel in Laugarbakki

Located in the town of Hvammstangi by Mid Fjord, this north-western Iceland property is 6 km from the Ring Road. It provides free Wi-Fi and a large furnished terrace with fjord views.

I chose the guesthouse as a base for exploring the westfjords and it would have been perfect for that, but the roads were closed due to severe weather. The owner went out of her way to help and advise me when I was worried about road and weather conditions. I ended up having a quiet break and the guesthouse was just perfect. There are great cooking facilities and a good dining area, a very comfortable lounge, good wifi and hot drinks provided. Entry to the local heated pool and hot tubs is included. It's quiet, comfortable, safe and within easy walking distance to a supermarket, a good restaurant, the seal centre and a small museum.

apartment Neðra-Vatnshorn, hotel in Laugarbakki

This renovated 1930s farmhouse is next to Lake Midfjardarvatn. It offers a fully equipped guest kitchen. Hvammstangi village is within 10 minutes’ drive.

A truly wonderful experience! The house was incredibly cozy and clean, equipped with all the necessities. Looking out of the windows, we were greeted by a lush green lawn, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The location was easy to find and had convenient parking. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit and will recommend it to other friends. Also, we would like to express our gratitude to the host for helping us send the items we left behind in the room. However, we haven't received them yet. My friend Shuqi (568536432@qq.com) has emailed you and sent WhatsApp messages, but she hasn't received a response.Maybe your email address is wrong, could you kindly reply to her when you have a moment? The package has been returned to you, and she is willing to pay extra as a token of appreciation.

A really really nice hotel. just minutes off the main highway. Staff amazing. dinner excellent. Would have no hesitation in recommending. If there is a downside and it’s only a small one. continental breakfast only when something hot would have been welcomed. Would definitely stay here again.
