Hofn is a lovely town in SE Iceland.
Hofn is a lovely town in SE Iceland. It has numerous, easy walking paths thru town and around their waterfront including a golf course with views that I think rival those of the finest courses in the world. Not a golfer, but if I were, this is a place I would want to play. It was spectacular. The views of the glacier were outstanding. There were several good restaurants, lobster is a local specialty. There are nature and art trails along the waterfront and a number of good historical exhibits. Wished we could have spent more time here. The Iceland countryside is so open and expansive and this location really gave us a sense of that expansiveness. It was a great location to watch the sunset and sunrise, too. We stayed at this hotel overnight whilst travelling around Iceland - it was very well suited for this.
