I like they had options of where to eat for dinner at the Old Barracks. They had a variety of sweets in our room when we arrived from their bakery. The room was very clean and we had a place to park our car. The staff were fantastic and really friendly.

Maeve and her family were excellent. As a solo traveller they made me feel welcome and it felt like a home from home. The location is very peaceful. I got a bus from Galway city and then walked from the bus stop in Craughwell.

The room was great for four friends traveling together, the beds were very comfortable and while space was tight, it was set up very conveniently. Breakfast was always delicious, with great options for vegetarians included. The staff were lovely and kind, answered our questions and assisted when we needed help.
Located in its own private grounds, this 4-star hotel offers spacious, elegant rooms. It is only 20 minutes’ walk from Galway’s centre and 5 minutes' walk from the nearest shopping centre.

We had a nice time here .
The heritage centre is worth a visit. For 5 euro you get to go on a tour and learn lots of the history of Athenry in a fun and interesting way ,you get to wear costumes and you get to do archery and a maze. Such a lovely experience. There's also a castle and an Abbey to visit . Great playground for children.
The food in the restaurants and pubs was just gorgeous. The people were friendly and nice.
Definitely will return again.

Athenry was a wonderful little town to visit.
Athenry was a wonderful little town to visit. Great to get a feel for authentic, non-touristic Irish culture. The town boasts a castle, a friary ruin, an old stone gate, so many gems to visit! Then the nightlife was very fun. Great pubs and music made for one our favorite stops during our 10 day trip to Ireland
The hotel is in the centre of town which is small with a busy one way system. Book in is in the restaurant and then you go across the road to the accommodation. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable with a good shower. A nice touch in having small cakes for guests in the rooms. There is tea / coffee making and wardrobe space in the rooms. The restaurant had good, reasonably priced meal choices and breakfast was very good. Staff were welcoming and friendly.
Breakfast was exceptional. Portions were generous, selection ranged from full Irish to smaller offerings. Their scones were some of the best we have eaten! Also, ate dinner in the restaurant the first evening and enjoyed their varied menu. The green curry was very good while the shredded duck on bao buns was excellent. Our only wish was that the restaurant had stayed open one hour later so that we could have eaten dinner at 7 instead of 6 pm.
We loved Athenry and our stay at the Lodge at the Old Barracks! The people were SO kind and took very good care of us. The "family room" was clean and spacious enough for us (three adults and one teen)...with everything we needed for our two night stay. The breakfast (at the restaurant across the street) was lovely. We're already planning when we can make a return visit.
very well presented
we came from Australia and are part of a Ukelele gathering called Muzos. we played and sang in the front Lawn “ The Field’s of Athenry “ A song I introduced to the group and sent the movie back to Brisbane. They all love to sing the Fields also . so we brought a little bit of Raheen Hotel to them.
The food was amazing , the hotel was georgeous and so comfy , the staff were extremely friendly and helpful , my kids got ice cream when they arrived and on leaving , we had a lovely time , a fantastic hotel , it was our first time there , we will definitely be back , it’s very child friendly too.
Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The hotel was spotless. The children were catered for and had activities to do. Pancake maker a big hit at breakfast. No problem parking at the hotel with easy access to motorway and Athenry Village
One bedroom flat was just beautiful. Super comfortable pull out couch in the living room was perfect for our daughter. Place is absolutely spotless and very well appointed. Will stay here again if ever back in Athenry.
Location is prime. Was able to wander in all of the interest points in Athenry. The Pub option is also a boost. Quick food delivery. Staff really flexible and friendly.

Best shower in Ireland👍👍
Very nice staff all through the Hotel. Excellent breakfast, delicious. Lovely meal in the bar also. Great pool and great area for the kids to play! Thank you
