This was a rented apartment located 5 minutes from the main center of Cres City. Plodine supermarket in the opposite direction was also 5 minutes but here it's perhaps better to visit the small markets in town. Our apartment was tremendous with a lush patio. Our hosts were gracious and accommodating to our every (modest) wish. They answered all our questions and their advice proved helpful several times. All was clean, with washing machine, fully equipped kitchen and a great little bakery 50 m from the place. Cres itself is a history lesson and feast for the senses wrapped in one great experience. Prices moderate. Up the road in Lubenice, if you dare make the steep hike, you'll find one of Europe's best beaches (Plava Grota) with its "blue cave"...It is a very rocky hike though so proper footwear is a must...no sandals! The reward is worth it...

Orlec is great located an peaceful village with all you need - mini market, conoba, lovely small beach Mali Bok with crystal clear water, reachable by 15 min walk from the park place. On the way to the beach we were so happy to see the Griffon vultures.
It is a good idea to wear good shoes for hiking, to bring water and beach umbrella, because there is no natural shadow.
