White Hart Hotel, hotel in Saint Albans

A 600-year-old coaching inn located in the centre of St Albans, White Hart Hotel sits opposite the world-famous Cathedral and Abbey. Guests can dine in a traditional oak-panelled, candlelit...

Historic inn with guest rooms easy walk from St Albans centre. Stayed 1 night as a stop on a journey and I thought it was great value for money. Oodles of character with wonky floors and four poster bed, and perfectly comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was nice and freshly made, location was good with a couple of nice restaurants just across the road and the pub at the hotel was nice and comfortable. Didn't check out town centre but it would only be 5 mins walk away. Only thing is some window covering in the bathroom would have been good so as not to be accidentally flashing the car park when having a shower :)

First time in St Albans and we absolutely loved it, we fell for its charm and it has everything, museums, book shops, great artisan shops, galleries ,great restaurants and cafes especially Abigails and Per Tutti, handy for the Arena, great English pubs and of course the Fabulous Cathedral, but most of all , lovely friendly helpful people

Lovely town for those who wish to discover London’s suburban arias. Great for kids and families. Cathedral with the relics of the first English saint, museum to learn about Romans, the oldest bun in UK…and much more..

St Albans is a very friendly town with people opening doors and being kind and considerate. We ate in whetherspoons in their Tudor barns and they also had an outdoor area to eat and drink if no rain! The pricing of everything we ate and drank was of good value and was very clean. There was lots of places we wanted to visit but most of our holiday it rained! But we did visit the shops which are all different and have different price ranges and styles.

I was there for work so didn't really have a chance to look around the place. I managed a visit to the cathedral which is a marvellous hulk of a mediaeval building and still an active place of worship. Wel worth a visit.

A classic english town with traditional houses, historical places and a small but well-cared city centre. St.Albans has a wonderful gothic cathedral, the calm and nature of the wide city park and the oldest pub in the UK is there. Services and shops make the city a nice place to live and to visit.

St Michaels Manor is a hotel that I have stayed in many times in the past. It is a beautiful Georgian Manor located on Fishpool Street in St Albans. The Cathedral and city centre is a ten minute walk. The food is exceptional and the service is good. The garden complete with ox-bow lake overlooks the park and is beautiful. While we were there the BBC were filming and utilising the hotel as an ideal back drop.

We had a spacious and comfortable room, with a large bed, cosy duvet and really nice pillows. The town centre is within easy walking distance from the hotel and there is ample space in their car park. The breakfast was very nice, with a buffet of continental items and a cooked breakfast provided to order. I would be very happy to stay here again in the future.

We had a wonderful time at this, perhaps the oldest building in St Albans. The staff were helpful and attentive, the room was comfortable, the hotel is decorated to emphasize its interesting history. The water was piping hot and breakfast was tasty. The parking was convenient.
