Excellent food, incredibly friendly and warm hosts. Everything was spotless, the bathroom was spacious and the water pressure divine. The hosts had an excellent attention to detail and care. We also got a locally made wool blanket and socks from the shop on the property. Those are now my all time favorite socks thanks to the beautifully soft and fluffy wool.

Wow, the food, great quality from a limited choice, but no doubt varies during the year. The remote location and the Art Deco appearance add atmosphere to the culinary enjoyment from Breakfast through to Dinner. Fantastic service and attention from the staff and owners.

I booked this hotel because of the location, near to Keswick. After parking we walked round the front looking for the entrance. Tha view from the front was amazing but we couldn't open the door so we went round the back and finally made an entry. This is where the ,fun' started .It was like travelling back to the 30s. Very old and not particularly stylish brown furniture. A man ,looking like Jeeves introduced himself. We asked if dinner was available but he apologised and said he was the only person in the hotel. I asked if he had a bar and and he showed me into a very cold dark room where the drinks available were a very poor selection. We went up to the room which was large but feel cosy. The view over the lake was fantastic. We tested the beds and looked at eachother and agreed to leave. We met the member of staff downstairs and I basically stated my case about leaving. The best way to describe it to him was that he had a vintage Rolls Royce without an engine and on that we left.

Comfortable, spacious room, lovely bathroom and good breakfast
Great hotel with friendly hardworking staff. Ideal base for walking surrounding fells, and close enough to Glenridding with ulswater also a short walk away. When here you feel like you have escaped the crowds and can relax, definitely be coming again.

Patterdale sits at the rugged end of Ullswater, and offers access to Helvellyn, High Street, and other peaks of truly astonishing beauty. The hiking in this part of the Lakes is strenuous and at times difficult, so visitors should be prepared for that. But the views are worth every step.
Patterdale itself is quite small, with a hotel, a pub, and then the Brotherswater Inn a little up the road. You'll need time to get around and time for meals and drinks. It's not a place to move fast, but it is a perfect place to stop and breathe.
Plan your hikes carefully, consult with local staff, and check the weather.

It’s truly a breathtaking stunning location . The hills and mountains are superb , the air so fresh. It’s serine and relaxing, highly recommended to restore your batteries so to speak . Wonderful to step outside the hotel and walk around the edge of the lake and take in the views.
One or two shops up the rd at Glenridding cafe’s and restaurants. Boats for hire on the lake .

Patterdale is not Keswick or Windermere.
Patterdale is not Keswick or Windermere. The scenery is spectacular and a haven for walkers of all capabilities and water sports. We found the area beautiful and like being abroad. Definitely will be coming back to walk and do some fishing. We made our way to the White Lion pub which is a focal point for both visitors and locals serving excellent food and a variety of local beers.

A great Lakeland village with Glenridding a short walk away.
A great Lakeland village with Glenridding a short walk away. Between the two villages they offer a selection of shops and pubs/hotels. There are countless walks and fells straight out of the door of your hotel. Ullswater in nearby and offers great water sport activities or just boat cruise for the less adventurous.
It is the first place we have stayed since lockdown and we couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable weekend. It is a situated in a beautiful and peaceful location but not too far from Patterdale and Glenridding. The staff are all without exception welcoming and friendly, we had an evening meal both nights which was delicious and both mornings we had a filling cooked breakfast that kept us fuelled for most of the day. We can't wait to book again for the Autumn, all being well.
Adam was welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, giving us plenty of energy for our long walk ahead. The room had everything we needed and there was also a guest lounge with sofas and a TV. We chose this b&b because of its location in Patterdale which is an absolutely beautiful place with endless walking options. We will definitely return.
Amazing location and great staff on our first nights stay here at the Patterdale hotel. The food is exceptional and the breakfast is top quality. The rooms are spacious and accommodating with some of the comfiest beds available for a great nights sleep. I would love to visit the lakes again and if I do this is the place I will stay.
Everything about this hotel was brilliant!! The young lady on reception was very bubbly, professional & welcoming we had a front facing room with mountain view. Breakfast was fabulous plenty of choices & evening meals were value for money & delicious. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Well done everyone 👍
We stayed for two nights here. The staff were very nice. The area around the hotel is quite pretty and the lake is close. There is also a pub just down the street where you can go for drinks or dinner. The breakfast at the hotel was quite nice and included eggs done several ways which we appreciated.
The hosts were really welcoming and helpful. The location was great, unfortunately nowhere to get an evening meal in Patterdale so we had to walk to the next village. My room was cold. Breakfast okay but no more. Lovely homemade marmalade
The staff the hotel and the setting are all absolutely amazing. We were taken great care of and the food was to die for. I highly highly recommend this hotel to anyone spending time here in Glenridding.
Crookabeck is a beautiful little farm located just outside of Patterdale on the coast to coast walk. We loved everything about our stay there - location, rooms, breakfast - and would always come back.
the location was amazing,a beautiful quiet spot away from main roads but only by a couple of minutes away from patterdale and glenridding,we would definately go again
