The room was clean and comfortable with a good shower. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The evening meal in the restaurant was mediocre. Breakfast was good.

Great value for money. Was expecting a tired old hotel, but this had .odeon fixtures and fittings, the carpets.looked.and smelt new, the fitness centre was very well equipped, the pool was a lovely temperature and the spa area was clean and well maintained. Steam room not working but the jacuzzi and sauna were lovely Would recommend for a relaxing weekend away.

The bedroom was large, clean and comfortable. I received a lovely greeting on arrival and was offered a choice of food. Fabulous bar area with a roaring fire. Breakfast was perfect. I was also given a takeaway coffee when I was heading home.

We should have been asked if either of us would have difficulty in climbing stairs and walking long distances to our room. We should have been told that the fixed radiator did not work and that the second, portable type, was in the room for that reason. The window in the room needed to be draught proofed. We were there on a very cold night.

Well situated for cycling along the Kennet and Avon Canal.
Well situated for cycling along the Kennet and Avon Canal. Good rail links both west and east. Attractive countryside away from the A4, e.g. back roads to Hungerford which we cycled. Newbury Centre very pretty. Best approached by bike rather than taking car into the town.

Overall a likable hotel in a great location.
Overall a likable hotel in a great location. I thought the grounds back of house were a little scruffy and untidy and I banged my car on the crash barriers around a shed when I reversed (Couldn't see them in my mirror).
Good friendly staff and manager.

25 MINUTES TO GET ONE BEER

I HAD CORRECT MONEY BUT HAD TO WAIT
40 MINUTES TO GET MY MEAL AND THE RESTAURANT WAS NEARLY EMPTY
NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL
All the staff we came across were extremely friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast. The hotel is comfortable and decorated to a high standard. It seems as if it has been freshly renovated. The family room was large and able to accommodate all 5 of us comfortably (2adults, 2children and 1infant). The breakfast was delicious and there was a good selection (although would be great if included in room rate).
The hotel room itself was beautiful, the bed comfy and everything was spotlessly clean. The tea/coffee/biscuits that were in the room were a lovely quality as well. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and genuinely couldn’t do enough! The breakfast was so lovely and a generous portion with lots of little extras.
Friendly Team delivering great service to guests, particularly the Italian restaurant and bar manager for whom no request was too much - I apologise I did not get her name, but a great asset to the hotel.
Rooms are clean, but the annex is dated (former Premier Inn/Lodge) so needs a face-lift.
Staff were helpful at breakfast but bar staff lacked wine knowledge of their own list.
Lovely hotel, great facilities too. Nice pub attached with good selection of drinks and food!
Close to Wasing Estate where we attended a music festival.
