Trethorne Hotel & Golf Club, hotel in Launceston

Trethorne Hotel and Golf Resort is situated 1 minute from the A30 on the junction A395 (North Cornwall Road).

We stayed in room 34 which yes, was close to the main road to North Cornwall and was busy. It was quiet during the night and you only need to shut the window and put on the air con to cool the room down. Our room was spacious and comfortable and there was plenty of space in the bathroom. We spoke to quite a few members of staff, all of whom were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was delicious and both my husband and myself thoroughly enjoyed the chilled, spacious restaurant we used. I think it would be much busier during the summer though!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!!

We have relatives nearby which we were visiting hence our stay. Launceston is good in parts, not many pubs served food bit it was awash wit takeaways. Not suitable for anyone with limited mobility as the town has steep hills. Tesco etc has killed all the small independents which used to be in the town

Good pubs, Red Lion in Trewint a must.

Good pubs, Red Lion in Trewint a must. Lovely town centre in Bude, can drive to Davidstowe and Boscastle, amongst other places. Heaps to do, stunning countryside for walks, definitely chocolate box. Breathtaking coastline. It's wonderful to have both countryside and coastline on offer 😁

Typical Cornish town, recommend Francine’s fish and chips for fast efficient service with a smile. The roads are narrow and it can get congested in a car but if you’re on holiday patience is key, enjoy

We were a 20 minute drive from Launceston in beautiful countryside. We used Launceston for self catering shopping. There is a castle, church and narrow gauge steam railway, Launceston is well placed. For the A30 for day trips to the many wonderful attractions along the coast.

Launceston, is a lovely town, with great views and lots of things to do. It has a lot of history to it and needs a few days to explore. There are also lots of places to stop in for a cup of coffee and something to eat

Is a super nice vacation cottage, is well above our expectations. Suitable for a group of friends or families who like to stay away from the outside noise. In the house it has everything you possibly will need. Is very peaceful area surrounded by different animals and farms, don’t worry there aren’t any stinky smell tho! Is a nice little house that me and my friends really enjoyed for our trip to Cornwall and had a really good time. Would defo come back next time when we plan to go Cornwall again. landlord were very friendly as well.

The place and the area feels like home, peaceful and quiet. My husband and I stayed there for 4 nights whilst exploring around Cornwall. The host Julie is amazing too, so when we arrived we were really hungry and could not be bothered to look for a restaurant around the area but she offered us 2 course homemade dinner (it was really yummy) good value for money and we are so please for her kindness. Thank you Julie and your husband for accommodating us. Highly recommended

I loved everything about this property. It has everything you’ll need for your stay, fully equipped kitchen if you plan on cooking. There is a small shop in the village of Polyphant but it you’re staying for a time you’d probably want to go to Tesco’s in Launceston. We had relatives near by so didn’t require a car, but if you’re traveling to the Shippon you’d probably want one. The Cornish countryside is exquisite and the views from our room didn’t disappoint.

Superb location on a working farm well in the quiet of the country, lovely small lake to walk around admiring the fish and wildlife with bats coming-out in the evenings. The property was excellent for us as we were out all day, did n o cooking after breakfast and simply wanted to relax after a reviving shower with a cold glass after a day's walking and exploring Devon and Cornwall.

Location is perfect for exploring North Cornwall. The accommodation was exactly what was needed for a 3 night stay and value for money. The hosts were lovely and couldn't do enough for us and communication was excellent. Bonus was a good restaurant in the local pub (The Rising Sun) which we used twice. Would book again if in the area.

Loved the location and was very well set up by the owners from a private caravan site for only about 7 to tastefully decorated rooms in the house, which were very comfortable and a decent size. We were made very welcome and the breakfast choice was superb. Would definitely return again.
