Brilliant place to stay, food was amazing, staff were brilliant…atmosphere in the bar was great. Can’t wait to stay again!
Set in 16th-century coaching inn, the Poolewe Hotel overlooks Loch Ewe and Inverewe’s botanical gardens. Local produce is served in Poolewe’s restaurant.
The breakfast was outstanding. The host was very nice and friendly. It’s not a property however where you could sit outside of an evening and enjoy the view but it was close driving distance to a lovely beach.

The room and hotel was spotlessly clean.
The room and hotel was spotlessly clean. In a beautiful position and a warm welcome. We were able to have a meal in the bar/restaurant there although delivery of goods being delayed meant we couldn’t have what we ordered.
We had a continental breakfast the following day which was fine. Plenty of parking at the hotel.

Laide is beautifully positioned on the loch shore with wonderful dramatic views all around. Lots of walks and beaches. A little disappointing that everything closes on Sunday but the trip to Gareloch was worthwhile.

Laide is a pretty village ideally located for anyone exploring the western coast of the Highlands or on the NC500 route. There are restaurants and take always in the area and the petrol station is a 24hr unmanned, pay-at-pump arrangement right outside the post office - good fun! There is a fabulous beach at Mellon Udrigle about 5 mins drive along the coast

Laide is remote and a tiny village so rating it is more about rating the area.. You don't end up in the area where Lovecroft is if you are not looking to be in very rural and a wild part of Scotland. The setting is gorgeous. Angela directed us to a new museum in nearby Gairloch, which was outstanding--everything from the fascinating geological history of the area to the history of the lighthouse and of crofting in the area. This is the kind of remote where you hope to find a cosy comfortable place, and we did.

Laide is quite small.
Laide is quite small. The beach is rather stony but the view is lovely. At the moment there is nowhere to eat as the hotel is being renovated. The nearby beach of Mellon Udrigle is magical with a sandy beach and stunning views. I did a great walk following the signs at the end of the village.
