One of the best hotels we’ve stayed at for a while.

We chose this because we wanted to visit Hampton Court Palace. After a superb evening meal at our hotel The White Hart we went for a wander over the bridge where we discovered a lively area of restaurants & bars with a great atmosphere. Also found out about a river boat trip that could take us to Hampton Court. We were able to book tickets online for the next day. And a 5 minute walk from the hotel is a train station that takes you to Waterloo.

The Mitre Hotel is a small luxury boutique hotel so I expected a lot from it and I was not disappointed. The staff is very friendly and professional. My room was spacious and elegant. The bed was comfy and breakfast was good. They even had gluten-free toasts to fit my dietary needs. The hotel is right by the Thames and the Hampton Court bridge. The view from the breakfast room is splendid and peaceful. A bus stop is 2 mins walking distance from the hotel, making it easy to go to Kingston or elsewhere.
We chose to book this hotel due to needing a place to stay after attending the Hampton Court Festival. Upon arrival we were informed that we had been upgraded to a suite - which was a lovely surprise! The suite was amazing…very spacious, air conditioned (which was a blessing in the heat) and had everything we could have needed for our stay! Staff upon arrival were lovely, breakfast the next morning was delicious and the location of the hotel was perfect for our needs. No complaints at all!
Breakfast was fab and very filling. All staff friendly and chatty. Room was comfortable. It is a short walk to New Malden train station to access Central and the 131 bus runs outside to get into Kingston. No it's not five star with extortionate London prices. Yes it is basic but I don't go to London to sit in a hotel and admire the wallpaper. Both myself and other half will be returning, on our next trip South. Thank you St George's Lodge.
Potential for being great hotel is there. Location is very convenient for Surbiton station and access to Kingston. Lack of hygiene in bathroom, long black hairs in the bath and toilet, I am bald so these clearly weren’t mine. WiFi didn’t work and staff were not interested in fixing it. Fluff balls and leaves in reception area. Only a cold buffet breakfast. I thought manager was a fellow guest at breakfast until he checked me out.
The staff made this stay by their helpful and friendly attitude from reception to restaurant staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The lady in charge of the restaurant was very on the ball with her supervision of the waiters and her concern that we were enjoying our experience.
The hotel is set in beautiful grounds within easy reach of Kingston centre. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
This hotel is in a perfect location for visiting Hampton Court, it is situated right next to The Lion Gates! The highlight for us were the staff. They were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious. Our room was comfortable, clean and well equipped. We even had fresh brownie bites waiting for us! We will definitely be back!
A lovely hotel, clean, nicely decorated and comfy rooms and the friendliest staff. Special mention to the lovely Bulgarian receptionist and the breakfast manager. Sorry, we didn't catch their names.
Perfect location - an easy walk to Hampton Court and Kingston upon Thames town centre.
Available parking on-site was a bonus.
Nice quiet place, value for
Money. Clean and close to town center.
Looking at the review I was afraid of booking but the price I paid and upon my visit I felt it’s value for money. At the end I paid very cheap price in comparison of other hotel in kingston town center so can’t complaint for any thing.
Good hotel but the rooms were very limited on wall sockets for charging. Hotel also is only stairs which I quite liked but I didn't have too many stairs to go up for our room.
It was the hot couple of days so the rooms were hot - hotel provided fans in the room which was helpful.
The staff were truly exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was great as good as any top hotel I've stayed in. Not the biggest rooms or en suites but I would highly recommend this hotel as value for money.
I was later to the hotel than expected but they were very good and kept my room and checked with me via text that everything was ok. The hotel was well priced, clean and convenient for a quick stop off.
The price was good, the owners/staff were friendly, breakfast well cooked and generous, and the hotel was nice and peaceful. Walkable from the station, for easy access to London.
