Heather was an extremely welcoming host who responded to our communication (both before we arrived and during our stay) very quickly. We really appreciated the biscuits, nibbles and breakfast selection. The apartment was very clean and presented well, so our stay was lovely and comfortable. The location was ideal for us. Easy access to Cardiff city centre by car and beautiful country walks from the flat.

Lovely and quiet tucked away accommodation but only 20 mins to Barry Island, and 5 mins to local castle and vineyard. The place is great, clean good powerful shower and a small kitchen, (Tesco 5min away) although close to Cardiff and facilities it does feel like you are on a farm.

The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. There was plenty of space to relax and make yourself feel at home. The shared kitchen area was also a lovely addition to our stay. We had a roast dinner at the pub and that was excellent too.
How can you NOT change sheets for next hotel guests??

Revolting smell of bedding when we arrived first day.
Cold air and water temperature in the spa, very disappointing in winter ,when people are traveling hoping to relax in a warm spa with romantic partner.
Very high price of food and alcohol.
Polite staff trying to compasate low quality of the hotel with a fake smile.
Beautiful decoration and fire place.
I would not recommend to travel in winter

Fabulous venue.
Fabulous venue. Great for special occasions whether couples or a larger function (and at least two function rooms). Lovely rooms and staff. Good food too. Added options of vineyard tasting tours, cookery courses. Woodland walks. Not the cheapest but you do get what you pay for.

We went for a couple of days to do a workshop at the royal mint. The area is beautiful and I wish we had more time at the hotel and to explore the local sights. The vineyard tour at the hotel looks amazing and our trip to the royal mint was amazing! Definitely recommend.

Beautiful river walk (1 m) from Pontyclun station to Lanelay Hotel (but very hard to find hotel). Pontyclun bit short of dining, but Fallbrook's Bistro was excellent.
Very friendly Llantrisant Folk club at lively Social club in Pontyclun. Also Good if you want Sky / BT Sports.

Rooms were big, clean and modern with all amenities. staff in all areas were friendly and helpful. any requests dealt with immediately. the breakfast had a good selection of cooked food and pastries etc. we had dinner on 2 evenings and every meal was excellent and we did not leave hungry. menus had wine recommendations with each course and were good quality and well priced. views of the countryside from the room were a pleasure to wake up to and open the balcony doors. we combined this trip with a visit to the Royal Mint which was only 10 minute drive from hotel. Can't wait to go back.
I have been stopping here every year for the past 6years around the same time for the autumn internationals it a good standard budget hotel close to railway 20min walk for a 20min train ride to Cardiff meaning I don't have to drive to Cardiff , and they are well accomodating I call up at 21:50 to say that we are returning later than expected and if there was any chance of food and the wait for us and cook a meal for us, what more can you ask for. Défi recommended . Especially for those that don't want to pay ridiculous price .
modern property ,with very nicely furnished restuarant overlooking their own vineyard . Restuarant has 2 AA rosettes and was very good with a very good selection of wines most available by the glass including their own wines produced in their vinyard. Staff were friendly ,location was very nice and also convenient close to M4 but at the same time isolated .
The property is similar to many vinyard restaurant’s/hotels in Victoria ,Australia or South Africa ,which is not common in the UK .
As soon as you step through the gate you step into a tranquil setting. The vibe is so relaxing and the hotels interior design is homely and boutique. I loved my 2 night stay here. The receptionist Kelsey provided the warmest welcome and made it her priority to ensure our stay was everything we expected. Food and service was excellent in the restaurant for both dinner and at breakfast. Our room was beautiful and felt like home. We will definitely be returning.
Rosie was so friendly and welcoming. They couldn't have helped us more with suggesting where to eat locally; suggesting transport options to Hensol castle and other top tips.
The cottage had everything we needed to prepare meals and breakfast. Rosie had left a thoughtful welcome gift of milk and water in the fridge and biscuits and coffee/tea to start us off.
We were cosy and it was very clean. Plenty of parking space too.
The countryside was lovely.
the inn./hotel is unique, old and modern and so tasteful. our room was very roomy, with an outdoor patio, so very pleasant, the hotel is located within walking distance of a town, where the locals are very friendly. the staff could not have been more helpful, so thanks to ceri, morgan, ash, megan, james, hannah, george, nikolai, and christiano. we loved our time there.
We love this hotel. We have stayed here four times in the last 14 years. It is a beautiful, well maintained period building with spectacular gardens/grounds. One of the earliest parts of the hotel was built in the 10th century. There is a flawless old fireplace in one of the hospitality rooms. And many , many other exquisite genuine historical architectural details.
A rather qaint and quiet hotel in a suitable location for travelling to newport and bridgend for work. Well presented, the rooms are all seperated by an exterior walkway and your own front door. My room had two queen beds inside and was neatly maintained. Lovely soft beds and plenty of pillows. Lots of storage space for those that needed a longer stay.
The room was amazing, really spacious, comfortable and clean. The look of the hotel is lovely we had good weather so were able to sit outside and enjoy a drink. The breakfast was really good. The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us.
I loved the Christmas decorations on entrance and around the hotel were really lovely. The food at the dinner event i attended was also delicious. All round brilliant atmosphere, will return!
Stunning hotel with an exceptional room which was huge. The surrounding area is also beautiful for walks and taking in the countryside.
Staff were polite and helpful
Pool facilities were great. The hotel rooms and in general was clean and tidy and spacious. Bar area was good too where we enjoyed food and drinks until late.
