Barn great but not good for disabled. When arrived the facilities were not good at all. But the staff were great and changed my room to accommodate me for my needs. But did enjoy my stay and staff were wonderful. Drinks were expensive and I think a happy hour should be used. Overall the stay were enjoyable xxxx

The property is set in a beautiful location with access to wonderful walking routes. The hosts were lovely, providing a friendly and welcoming environment for my daughter and I. The breakfast was presented in a hamper directly to our room. Lovely attention to detail.

Delightful historic building, full of character, a bit compromised by being right on the A1 but a lot more quiet than the location might suggest. Really nice couple running the place, it's obviously a labour of love.

We stayed here for our 15th wedding anniversary. The stay was great start to finish, very clean hotel and great breakfast. Staff was great, we requested for some water in middle of the night around 3am and a member of staff brought us full jug of water up to our room within 1 minute, highly recommend. Good spa facilities included room booking.

We stayed at Vale View Barn for 2 nights as we were going into Grantham for the Pork Pie Making Experience. We spent the day in Grantham, had lunch at Wetherspoons and walked along the river and around the park before going to the Pie Making Experience. A very pleasant day. Vale View Barn is excellent, beautifully furnished with everything you need and the owners are extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately first thing in the morning the swimming pool was full of unsupervised shouting splashing children.
Not my idea of a spa retreat I'm afraid...
Pre booked or reserved children free times would have helped...

Our visit was mainly visiting family in Corby Glenn, so our experience of Grantham was just to visit to find a restaurant (one evening). Delighted to find a good Turkish restaurant; found parking nearby, so our (limited) trip to Grantham was great!

The location was very nice.
The location was very nice.
Tables were cleared but not cleaned.
No cocktail menu. No dry martini. Limited larger choice one after a short while.
Gin and tonic served in a cracked glass.
Not what you would expect from the details given of the hotel.
Evening menu not great waited nearly a hour for our meals.
However a lovely breakfast.
Disappointed with what should have been a special treat.
Location is beautiful, and all staff were excellent. This hotel has the potential to be exceptional but for some reason is seriously underfunded?
A fire in the entrance hall would go a long way to improve the welcome; Then if tea, coffee and cakes were on offer we would of sat by the fire and spent more money!
Upstairs was delightfully warm and we were moved to the very nice Oakroom, but this was only after we complained our initial room on the second floor looked very tired and uninviting.
Stella was extremely friendly and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The house is quite querky but a pleasure to stay in such a building. The breakfast was great and freshly cooked. THe location was ideal for seeing Grantham as all was in walking distance.
The hotel is easy to find, has a good car park and is very clean. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel is obviously not a 5 star establishment but does exactly what is says, and is 200 m from the center of Grantham. Would use it again with no hesitation.
I thought the elderly gentleman and his family that ran the hotel together with his family was very generous and helpful in making my stay as comfortable as possible, I loved the history of the places and it was a pity I was only there for one week
It was more Hotel than just somewhere to stay. No modern shampoo and soap dispensers but bottles and little tablet of soap. Was only overnight so didn't use all facilities available but had a nice meal and slept well. Shower was good and powerful.
This is a wonderful place to stay. An idyllic rural hideaway - confirmed by it being the locals' 'local'! Everyone made you feel that they wanted you to be there - and nothing was too much trouble. A true 'English pub' that you hope to visit.
We needed an overnight stop, it was just off the A1 and I didn't want to stay in one of the "chains" - The Gregory was cheaper and much better IMO, service was friendly food was great and in all just what was needed
Very well equipped, clean and tidy appartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay
Close to town centre but quiet aswell
Good communication with host
Cannot fault the place, well worth a visit
Nice accommodation in a listed building in the centre of Grantham. Rooms were fine, with comfy beds. Nice bathroom.
The host was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.
The family room was spacious and quiet despite hotel in middle of town. The beds were comfortable. The bartender in the cocktail bar had a good knowledge of cocktails.
Its a great property, clean, well located for Grantham city centre and with all the basics that you will need, Netflix was a nice added bonus on the tv.
