this is a fansatic hotel old but just had a full make over - i have stopped here a lot over the past 20 years and seen 2 make overs - this one has really made the place homely and comfortable - trouble is they have hiked the prices too high for my company budget - so cant stop anymore

A very comfortable bed and a big room that was perfect for having our small dog with us. A really excellent breakfast too. The staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful.

Lovely, clean hotel, very welcoming my daughter had a nice little welcome pack which she loved. Rooms were clean, beds were comfy and Breakfast was nice
Would stay again.
We really enjoyed the hotel. Our room had everything we required. One issue was that the floorboards were very squeeky and therefore pretty annoying. We appreciate it must be difficult to resolve this problem. Also it was very noisy on the Friday evening, mainly caused by a stag night!
We had a good breakfast one day and found a couple of very good restaurants in the village within easy walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed in Gerrards Cross as a convenient base for visiting friends and family. We did not really consider it as a holiday location. However, the train station is a few minutes walk away and the village common looked inviting although time and weather prevented us exploring.

We stayed overnight as our daughter was flying from Heathrow...
We stayed overnight as our daughter was flying from Heathrow back to Canada the next morning. The good thing about the hotel was the convenience, and the proximity to other relatives. We met these relatives in the bar for a drink in the evening, which was nice.
However, the hotel was very tatty, and tired. In addition, there was a pervasive smell of damp/sewers upstairs including in our room. The windows in our room would not close, and the glass was cracked, with torn net curtains. The windows along the main corridor were open and locked in that way. Carpets were dirty, and the hot tap on the wash basin was loose so it had to be held to operate the tap. The toilet seat was hanging off too. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable. We had two tea bags in our room and had to ask for more so we had enough for tea in the morning. We won’t be returning!

Very helpful and welcoming staff. Location is excellent.
Very helpful and welcoming staff. Location is excellent. Short walk in town and for rail connection into London. Rooms are comfortable and on our last two visits it was clear that the bathrooms had been upgraded to an excellent standard. Pretty standard breakfast and good bar meals.

We were visiting for a family party nearby.
We were visiting for a family party nearby. For that purpose it was fine. We did not eat at the property other than breakfast. It is ok but is generally tired and in need of an update. Outside areas were untidy.
My stay at the Ethorpe went well, warm and friendly staff. Nothing to much trouble, and I would go there again , the same for my family as well. I would recommend the Ethorpe to my friends for good value for money.it has a lovely interesting quality shopping area. Some good quality Charity shops too. The buses stop outside the hotel, so don’t forget your bus passes if they apply. and the hotel is 5 mins from the train station , what more can you ask for.
I love the historic character of this property. it has quirky corridors, stairs and room shapes. The location cannot be beaten if you want to walk to explore the high street with its shops, cafes and restaurants or stroll to the common for the woodland and a duck pond. It is also just 5 minutes walk to the station if you want to catch a 25 minute train in to London Marylebone.
Breakfast was fab, would have been brilliant getting the train to London (but rail strikes 😟) managed with a taxi and tube.
Room was quiet even with a function on.l, no noise disruption. Car charging was easy and available.
Bathroom was modern and clean and toiletries were lushious, great smelling! Would recommend and return.
Comfortable bed, nice bathroom, very nice breakfast.
Nice quiet location. Nice big car park.
I went to Wembley to see Sheffield Wednesday and we won and got promoted, so my steak and chips and pint of lager shandy tasted even better in the hotel restaurant.
Very convenient for train station and trains to Wembley.
Centrally located in Chalfont St Peter which is accessible from Gerrards Cross and near several restaurants and a M&S
Decent price
Not bad range of drinks at the bar
Comfy bed and good bedding
Good cooked breakfast (although white bread and instant coffee (!!) given as default)
We often stay at the Ethorpe, it’s comfortable, has a good restaurant with beer garden and plenty of parking. It’s also close to Gerrards Cross station and shops.
The hotel was becoming very shabby but has been renovated since our last visit, a great improvement.
The food was very good and varied and available all day. Very good cooked breakfast. Helpful, efficient and friendly staff, very responsive to every request and the venue is central for many tourist attractions. Getting into London was also very easy.
A very clean and spacious hotel with lovely staff and a decent quality bedroom. Nice open view of trees from bedroom on second floor.
Easy walk from the railway station and also from hotel into Gerrards Cross village shops going around the common.
Great location and the place is much bigger than it looks. The restaurant downstairs is incredible, just go, don't deliberate, just make sure you eat in Yaprak. We are about to move to the area and it cemented the fact that we made the right choice.
THE STAFF WERE VERY GOOD ESPECIALLY THE SECURITY MAN ON THE DOOR WHO CAME STRAIGHT TO OUR AID WHEN ONE OF OUR FRIENDS AND FELLOW GUEST AT THE HOTEL FELL GETTING OUT OF THE TAXI ON 16/09/2023 HE WAS EXCELLENT
Room was very comfortable and very warm. Everything that you might want in the room was provided and the evening meal was good. Parking facilities were good and next to a main Train line to London.
Very comfortable and quiet, clean, tidy and nicely decorated rooms
Excellent location - near shops, and a short walk to train to London
The staff are friendly and helpful
