We had a lovely over night stay the room was well thought out and inviting from opening the door the room smelled good bed was so comfy did not want to get out of it. Food was amazing evening meal and breakfast. Staff was so help full on the ball with everything. Bar was well stocked. Amazing.

Ecclefechan itself is a bit of a ghost town very tired looking centre just a small general store.We went to eat at the Cressfield hotel on outskirts of village by caravan site.We ate there and would reccommend their evening meals.Ecclefechan is in quite a good position to see some of the surrounding countryside and coast.

Lovely Hotel, 400 years old and lots of character, very friendly, regular bus service to Lockerbie, Annan, Gretna and Carlisle. We had a great adventure. Hotel was very friendly and we loved our stay. The food was good pub grub and the hotel was lovely as was the room. We had a beautiful on suite. A big comfy bed. We were welcomed as soon as we arrived by Ste who was more than helpful during our stay. The landlady made a point of coming to sit near us during the evening and we had a nice conversation not only with her but a local gentleman called Ben who we had a few drinks with. Staff were very friendly and one of them even offered to walk our dog for us which we were delighted with. Location is perfect for access to A74M. The room was clean the bed was comfortable and as we had an en suite we were self contained the shower was excellent as was the water pressure which is sometimes a bit poor in many hotels.
