I found Dunoon to be a pleasant and friendly town with all the amenities i needed. Cowal is a beautiful part of Scotland with tremendous opportunities for outdoor recreation. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys the outdoors, yet is close to Glasgow and its amenities.

Castle House Museum Gardens are beautiful and well worth the hike up to the flagpole for the view. Food and service at the Lorne Bar are excellent St Ives Hotel has a beer garden worth checking out at weekends and right next to the water. Easy to walk around. Swallow cafe could do with some staff training the person serving ice cream had an attitude issue.

The caravan we booked was excellent. It was a well earned break from home care of elderly mother . The site was gorgeous lovely walks tranquility was everything our little dog also had a great time with so many walks in different areas. Trip alas was to short but it's all we could get time for .love to come back though. Janice Chloe and husband

Great location 5 minutes from the pier for ferries and buses. Single room was warm, had hot drinks and a TV. Ensuite small but functional Very reasonable price for a single walker. I don't normally eat at hotel restaurants but after the first night, decided it was so good value that I would eat there the second night.
