We had quite a wait from when we checked in until our room was ready, so the staff gave us complimentary drinks vouchers which we used that evening in the bar. The guy managing the pool was brilliant, he got a lot of flack from other hotel residents when the pool was at capacity but he was only doing his job and was helpful and polite. Room itself was spacious and clean. The pool changing rooms were just the right temperature and clean.

Lovely, friendly staff in a central location with plenty of bars and restaurants in the area as well as walks. Parking on the road outside the hotel after 6pm or there is an NCP opposite through a walkway, a few minutes away. The hotel does a good Breakfast and the green room is an excellent Restaurant if you don't want to venture out. no need to stay anywhere else. I come here every month.

Colchester is a brilliant town to visit, you have the old and new part to walk round ranging from a good collection of shops and food outlets to browse and walking round the various churches, castle, monastery ruins and lovely parks. The town is within walking distance of both train stations, taxis are plenty also. Take a good pair of comfy walking attire for feet as you will be walking up and down gradients!! A great place to visit on the local bus is Manningtree where there is a antiques emporium to walk round with a great cafe in the high street for food. If visiting Colchester for the first time I recommend staying at least a minimum of 4 days as their is a lot to see of interest. Lots of charity shops too!! For families do visit Colchester Zoo which is a great day out, this can be reached by bus also if you do not drive.lynetteUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

Great weekend destination. Loads of big and little shops, cafes, restaurants and craft ales bars. Great atmosphere in town. On top of this the most amazing castle and wobbly medieval houses and Roman walls something for everyone!! Colchester is a gem.
Colchester is a gem. Lovely architecture and sights, good cafes and pubs, shopping and eateries. It's not at all dog friendly, though, which is a big drawback if you ask me. Come on, Colchester, Britain loves its pets!

Bed decently comfortable, plug sockets by the bed, and of course free Wi-Fi. Staff were very polite and friendly, and the service was very efficient. I slept very well and was easily able to walk to Castle Park, local restaurants and shops, and Colchester Town train station from the hotel. I wouldn't bother with the breakfast, as you have many options on the High Street and nearby, within spitting distance, for much cheaper.

When I checked in, I was greeted by Roland (the hotel manager). He helped me settle down in my lovely ensuite bedroom and enriched me with the history of Colchester. He provided excellent customer service for all the guests of the hotel. This hotel is highly recommended, and I hope everyone who goes to Colchester Boutique Hotel will feel comfortable and delighted.

It was competitively priced, the room and bathroom were clean, the shower was decent and the beds were very comfortable for us. Also, the quality of the breakfast was quite good and at £10 per person, represented good value. And finally, all the members of staff we had contact with were very friendly and helpful.
