Delta Hotels by Marriott St Pierre Country Club, hotel in Caldicot

The manor was renovated in 2023 and has two golf courses, a fitness club, a spa, superb meeting facilities, and two on-site restaurants.

The hotel itself and the facilities are very impressive. The older parts of the building are beautiful, with decor in keeping with the architecture, and many original features retained. The room was comfortable, spacious, tasteful and spotlessly clean, with nice amenities and a great view. Staff were very friendly, professional and accommodating, especially on reception and in the Leisure Suite. My Mum and I took full advantage of the heated pool, jacuzzi and sauna, passing through the large, air-conditioned gym on the way. The location is tranquil and pleasant to walk around, plus there was plenty of free, private parking on site and a pro golf shop, buggy hire etc.

Woodfield Accommodation, hotel in Caldicot

Woodfield Accommodation, a property with a garden, is located in Chepstow, 28 km from Cabot Circus, 29 km from Bristol Zoo Gardens, as well as 30 km from Bristol Temple Meads Station.

We were in room 14. The whole business is closed and shouldn't be available for rental. It is false advertising as what their website shows is far from the truth. Mould on walls. Toilet not flushing. Dirty bedding. Threadbare carpets. It is clear that the business has closed. It shouldn't be avialbe for use and to be charged £105 for room only, for a place that is inhabitable is a disgrace. Booking.com need to do more research on what they are offering. I would be very hesitatnt to use booking.com again. I will be making a review on trip advisor.

The town itself isn't particularly interesting, but it has a lovely castle with attractive grounds - great for walking round and also entrance at times. Surrounding countryside is also attractive with easy access to the Wye Valley, Roman remains at Caerwent and the Brecon Beacons.

The reception staff! What lovely staff , such diamonds in the rough, quite literally! Very happy to clean the bathroom for me, friendly with the dogs, and probs the best thing about the place . Around the car park and back of hotel plenty benches and grassy areas for dogs . I liked that the hotel was dog friendly and reasonably priced for their charges. Plenty shops next to hotel . Plenty parking

Lovely decorated guesthouse, with small things that make a difference (home-baked cake on arrival, good choice of teas in the room, conditioner...). Great breakfast with various options and very accommodating host. Caldicot was just a resting spot for the night, I wouldn't recommend visiting the town, but at least this stay made it more pleasant.

The Lychgate is only 10 mins from the main trunk roads and easy to find. It is located next to Caldicot Castle and has an excellent pub on the opposite side of the road. The room was boutique size, more than adequate for us. The room and property were spotlessly clean. Breakfast was plentiful. We would stay there again

Apart from the higher management being obsessed with putting up anti-covid posters everywhere, it was a good stay in a slightly shabby but good hotel. It is a pity that there is no proper restaurant in the hotel itself, only burger type foods next door. Altogether a reasonably good place to stay.

The staff present on the day were very understanding of our situation. Unfortunately, they did not have any spare rooms. We had booked for 7 nights but we requested to leave after one night. The hotel staff gave us a full refund and £20 food voucher.
