Team very kindly upgraded my room for free. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean, quiet and comfortable with a gorgeous view. Loads of local walks plus five minutes walk from the station so an ideal spot for visiting the RSPB reserves in Silverdale/Morecambe Bay if, like me, you're car-free. I didn't eat in the pub but great communication in advance offering reservations when it started to look like a busy weekend! Little things like windows that properly open and heavy curtains meant that even on a hot weekend in a high up room it was possible to keep the room cool, an absolute blessing after long days out walking.
Featuring free WiFi and a restaurant, The Wheatsheaf at Beetham offers accommodation in Beetham within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar.

It's an interesting village with lots of history especially using a leaflet/guide purchased (50p) from the local Post Office/Village Store. As with many small villages it has lost the majority of its small businesses and there appears to be many houses unoccupied (second homes?) or semi-derelict. There are many interesting places and things to see without having to travel long distances so could be attractive as a base.

We go here at least three times a year mostly for a week, it’s lovely sitting on the balcony of the apartment we hire and the ducks just love us feeding them, the area is great for couples and it’s a great location to the local area. Plenty of shops and restaurants in Carnforth. We always go to the canal turn in Carnforth, there is a nice chip shop not far from the Tesco supermarket.
It’s a very dog friendly place most pubs accommodate your dog.
We had a pleasant stay in the Kings Arms hotel. Stayed there for 2 nights. Adrian, the manager is very friendly. It was a nice homely place. We had booked a deluxe double room as well which was quite spacious. Quite flexible check in timings. We, in fact checked in quite late around 1030 pm. Beautiful breakfast, sumptuous and fulfiling.
Old fashioned coaching inn with some character and a popular and good local pub for the village. A good range of beers and very friendly bar staff. Good breakfast and a reasonable restaurant menu. Our stay of 2 nights was good value for money and Burton is within easy reach of the Southern Lakes and Kendal.
The hotel from outside looks dated . But wow when u get inside and get your room they are smart and very up to date. Service was excellent and food was excellent ,Definitely stay again on our next visit to Liverpool. 10 out of 10 from.us.
Convenient stopping place on long drive to Scotland and a popular 'local' too. Characterful hotel in historic little town. Reasonably priced menu & lots of variety at breakfast. Comfy bed & lovely big towels. Great staff.
The lady who has recently taken over the management of this pub/hotel, was very helpful, but also very busy, trying to cover the hotel, bar and waitressing.
The breakfast was good with numerous options of cooked dishes.
The room we had was fabulous, especially having dogs. We could just take them straight out onto the courtyard. Lots of space in the room. The couple who run the pub and hotel were very hospitable.
Lovely king size bed which was so comfortable. Have never been to a hotel where the hospitality tray has so mu
ch on offer. Really pleased with hospitality tray. Lovely hot water for a bwth
