The George Hotel Wetherspoon, hotel in Brecon

The George Hotel Wetherspoon is a traditional, family-owned hotel in the centre of Brecon. It is popular for its fresh home-cooked food, real ales and friendly Welsh welcome.

Nothing. The accommodation was totally unsuitable for 2 OAPs with limited mobility which we had made the George aware of prior to our arrival. Didn’t check in. The duty Manager was sympathetic to our plight.

Westend Holiday Let 2 Brecon, hotel in Brecon

Offering a garden and garden view, Westend Holiday Let 2 Brecon is located in Brecon, less than 1 km from Brecon Cathedral and 30 km from Clifford Castle.

Great location - short walk from all the facilities of Brecon but nice and quiet as well for good nights sleep. Property is well equipped, clean, and a lot of thought has gone into it. Smart TV with all the usual apps (iPlayer etc. ; Amazon prime or Netflix - you’ll need your own logins for these two). Well equipped kitchen so easy to self cater. And was nice surprise to find coffee, a few milk portions, coffee and some biscuits and washing up items and cleaning items and some toiletries which were plenty for out overnight stay. Easy check in and self check out option.

Excellent location in centre of Brecon - easy walking to shops, cafes, takeaways, cathedral, museum, river etc. We had a parking space outside (but not clear this was an allocated space for the apartment). Unseasonal weather (ie cold) and apartment lovely and warm. Double bed comfortable. Good TV streaming choice. Easy to access apartment using lock box (code sent via Booking.com app on day of arrival). Good supply of toilet rolls, soap and washing up liquid. Crockery, cutlery and saucepans for 3 people.

Alltybrain Farm Cottages and Farmhouse B&B, hotel in Brecon

Situated in Brecon and only 42 km from Elan Valley, Alltybrain Farm Cottages and Farmhouse B&B features accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking.

The property was set in a lovely and well-maintained garden, surrounded by hills with sheep. It was so peaceful and lovely. The host offered to cook breakfast earlier than usual to accommodate my schedule. That was lovely. The breakfast was very nice with homemade rhubarb, and honey from the host’s own beehives. The property is located 300m away from a local put which serves food. This was great for the evening as we did not have to use the car to dine.

Lovely picturesque town, plenty of shops etc Down side absolutely shockingly no transport!!! You have to get a cab and that was almost impossible, they really need to improve transport links, I had to book a cab from abergavenny which cost a small fortune just to be able to catch train home. It's better if you drive

From the town with independent shops to the breathtaking walks this is a lovely place to spend some time to take in the Welsh scenery. There is plenty of parking and places to stay and prices are reasonable. The museums and community centres are not to be missed.

Our visit to Brecon was to meet friends and celebrate a milestone birthday. We had a fantastic bit short trip and regretted not having more time to explore the town more as well as the local countryside.

Spent two whole days sightseeing in brecon itself. Other days went out to visit, wales ape and monkey sanctuary, Henrhyd waterfalls were well worth the walk down the shale track, visited Blaenavon mining museum and visited Aberfan. Each route had ideal motorcycling road and spectacular countryside views. There are also other places to visit but did not have time to visit them all. Would recommend the area for views and for walkers, lovely spots for picnics. Absulutely fantastic

The hotel was clean neat and tidy. The people on reception were polite & courteous. The restaurant food was good. There is no service between lunch and dinner - so it means a trip out if you need a snack. I was using the hotel as a half way stop so didn’t explore the area.. sorry.

The cathedral was well worth a visit- and the cafe/lunch place was lovely with good quality food. It’s a lovely town with a lot of character and good places to eat and drink. The surrounding area is stunning. For those wanting to go up Pen y Fan and other peaks, Brecon is a perfect base. I will be going back for sure!

Hotel situated right near brecon town , 5-10mins walk. The canal is about 15mins walk , 5mins in car. Lots of car parks around this area too. The location is quiet during the morning, there is a church bell nearby, but I didn't hear it go during the morning and i didn't hear it after 7/8pm the night before. The restaurant is a lovely , well decorated area with a nice menu. Only 1 main option for vegetarian, but it was nice. Staff were friendly and happy to help.

This Inn has the perfect location for discovering Brecon Beacons. It is very conveniently located, making it easy to access hikes, to visit local restaurants and pubs. But what stood out the most is the hospitality received from Gail; throughout our stay, she went above and beyond to help make our stay perfect. She has such a fantastic energy and it made our experience in Wales unforgettable. Thank you!

An exceptional guest house in a perfect location in Brecon. Very comfortable and well appointed. The attention to detail is impressive - for example the milk kept in the fridge for tea/coffee. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and the use of pre-ordering meant you got exactly what you wanted freshly cooked. Parking close to the town centre was a bonus.

We had the greatest time at the Griffin Llyswen. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay, from the amazing scenery to the town of Brecon itself. We looked forward to going back to our haven at the Griffin at the end of the day. The restaurant was excellent, the pub was clean and the staff were excellent. We will be going back there again in the future, of that there is no doubt.

Owners could not have done anymore, she was extremely friendly to all guests, nothing was too much trouble. Very dog friendly allowed in all areas of the inn. Brilliant breakfast catering for all needs, as I am vegan I had a good choice of for the hot breakfast. A simple but decent pub food menu, good pitstop before carrying on to our other destination

David and Co were fantastic. We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived, nothing was too much trouble when we asked for something. Breakfast is excellent, the location of the hotel is great for getting into town and out into the Brecon Beacons. I am already planning another trip to the area and will use Castle Farm Guest House again.

I know Brecon very well and have stayed in a couple of the other hotels in town. But I chose to stay there while I visited family. The room was clean, quiet and had a lovely bathroom. It's central to town and despite it being part of the pub's complex - it wasn't noisy, (although I stayed mid week).

The hotel and the staff are very welcoming, and they are dog friendly. This is my second time staying at the Wellington and I will go back whenever I get the chance. The restaurant is good and the food is what I would expect from a Marston franchise.
