Fantastically located in the centre. Absolutely spotless. Bed super comfy and bedroom felt like my own! Staff very welcoming and the bar area is great!
Lovely place and the canal at back of pub. Another pub over the can at back of pub that I would try as well next visit. There is lovely walk over on the other side of the canal. Plus very dog friendly.

Bolton le sands is a quiet village, with a lovely beach for dog walking and stunning walks along the canal.
It is the Door way to the lakes so not far to access any of the Lake District attractions and beauty.

The Royal Hotel was our stopover stay on the way up and down from the Scottish Highlands. It was a great choice as very dog friendly (canal behind hotel to walk our dog), free parking basic but more than adequate room and above all it serves fantastic food and beer which we can not recommend highly enough. Will definitely stay again when heading northwards again. 😊
The food was exceptional both in the evening restaurant and breakfast. All staff were very welcoming. The bed was very comfortable. It was very clean. Great parking right outside the hotel. I appreciated the fan provided in the room as it was a very warm night.
Didn't have breakfast at hotel so can't comment, but location of the hotel is beautiful.
While can't comment on breakfast. The food was delicious at dinner, and given me being type 2 diabetic, they couldn't have been any more accommodating and helpful.
Absolutely amazing hotel, amazing staff and lovely location for a walk. Only downside was the pillows as they were VERY soft, but the bed and everything else was perfect.
Thank you so much for having us and our dog!
Friendly staff, food was delicious lovely restaurant and outside bar, clean looks refurbished recently. Great spot lovely walk along the canal into Carnforth. Great dog friendly hotel even in the restaurant.
Convenient location for meetings in Lancaster. The hotel is well presented and was very clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent.
