The location was great and the check in was simple too...paid on arrival...the royal bar is a lovely comfortable place..shown up to my room in an adjacent building across from the Royal building ...shower was good ...TV worked great

Great welcome ,great food ,friendly staff and decor in hotel was smart and clean,nice beer garden ! and a good selection of ales ,also the food was excellent and freshly cooked,and nice to get a breakfast that hasn't stood around being kept warm..it was deliceous,a good choice and piping hot ! we will stay there again ...good walks along the Canal at hotel rear to Carnforth or Morcambe or Lancaster with fantastic views over Morcambe bay also a good bus service to local paces from in front of hotel ,also free parking is available straight across from the Hotel...

Gateway to the lakes. 555 service just across the road if you don't want to drive - an Explorer ticket let's you hop and off at grasmere, windemere etc. Handy for Lancaster and Morecambe Bay .

It was a great choice as very dog friendly (canal behind hotel to walk our dog), free parking basic but more than adequate room and above all it serves fantastic food and beer which we can not recommend highly enough. Will definitely stay again when heading northwards again. 😊
