We loved this little hotel set back just 100m from the HUGE beach on a quite side road (with lots of parking). This hotel was peaceful and comfortable- great value for money. We had the breakfast - again great value.

We had a lovely stay in our exceptionally clean and well kept room, the breakfast was absolutely delicious (with homemade breads), and to top it off Patrice was the best host we have ever experienced. With our poor knowledge of French, Patrice kindly helped us to book taxis to and from our friends wedding, calling up to make sure we got there and back ok. We could not ask for more. Thank you Patrice :)

Characterful coastal town. In Summer there were lots of market stalls both in the town square and along the beach front. The large beach has lots of water activities such as windsurfing and sailing but there are separate areas for swimming so it is safe and enjoyable with lifeguards attending.
The lighthouse is worth a visit - there's a lovely promenade walk to it and you can climb the stairs to the top for a lovely view of the area.
St Georges was much quieter than neighbouring Royan.

The beach is clean and easily accessible and very close to the town. We arrived on a Monday and unfortunately almost every restaurant, café, bar and most shops were closed giving us very little choice.

I loved this town & area on the western coast of France!
I loved this town & area on the western coast of France! It's not known to many Americans, but many French go there for vacation in July & August. I felt lucky to have found it, only because a French friend is from the region.
Places of interest are Talmont, Grotto Matata, Cotes Sauvage, lighthouse (phare) on the Ile de Re, are just a few. Mostly hanging out at the beach & going to the free evening concerts in Royan.

we couldnt find the appartmnet and couldn.t get the owner to answer our messages ,she finally left a message after the booking date complaining that we left messanges on her land line..........YES[ that was the only no. we had] . We hadto stay at a hotel, and booking .com were no help. . I,would like my money back but sadly Booking .com are not the co. they used to be .Even workmen working on the building had no idea where this appartment was ,it is probably a scam. we speak excellent french and could not locate it or the owner.
Patrice has done a wonderful job in designing his bed and breakfast rooms. He is very friendly and to talk to. Breakfast was superb and he had made the yogurt, breads and pastries himself…..wonderful. The villa was very convenient for the beach front, had a lovely pool and was quiet.Patrice recommended an excellent restaurant for us at night so we had a great stay.
This place is amazing. We had a private small house by the sea. The house was furnished with style and quality. The view from the big windows was so beautiful even in rainy November day. If you like to try sand surfing they offer a trial class in the near by beach towards Royan. It was fun (and muddy).
