Mesón de Sancho, hotel in Tarifa

This traditional-style, Andalusian country mansion is just south of Los Alcornocales Nature Reserve, midway between Tarifa and Algeciras.

Everything was perfect. We stayed for one night during a roadtrip and enjoyed the cozy room with nice views on the river. It was quiet at night.

Good location, but they didn’t say anything on the website about the pool being closed. Only reason we booked it was due to the roof top pool.

Tarifa has one of the best beaches I've been to.

Tarifa has one of the best beaches I've been to. Large, with fine sand, clean and easy entry into the water. Due to the winds, the area is good for water sports (kite surfing, etc), not so much for swimming, due to the waves. Good position to watch the sun set into the sea. Great place to chill at a bar nearby the beach, eat ice cream, have dinner. Tarifa is also very close to Morocco, a short ferry ride away from Tangier. Highly recommend the trip if you have the opportunity.

Great little town, the beach full of kite surfers when we arrived & was a sight to see. Very sweet small old town, clean, cute shops, excellent eateries including Powerhouse bakery & dinner at Axta- superb! Very walkable, views for sunset over the sea, Morocco in the distance. Low key in feb & most enjoyable.

Tarifa is a very unique place with a super relaxed and good vibe. If you want to explore the coast line it's a great base, easy to park cars outside the old town walls. There are various dunes and historic sites to visit within 1 hour of the city as well as view points from various locations with unbeatable views of the coastline and seeing Morocco which is pretty special. For eating, there is an amazing Italian Restaurant highly recommended called La Trattoria. I am Italian and the pasta was very good quality for Spain. There are also lovely restaurants beyond the port along the beach and in the area just outside the old town walls towards this direction. It is easy to walk around the city and there is plenty of shopping in boutique shops as well as surfer/sports shops. Huge amount of water sports activities on offer too.

Barry is an exceptional host, very helpful and super communication. Lots of recommendations of where to eat (try Ola Ola for cheap and great food) and visit. The accommodation is charming, beautifully decorated and in a perfect location for the old town and seafront. The roof terrace is great too, a great outside space to chill. We loved Tarifa and really hope to return one day. Of course when we do, we will definitely be staying at Darcilla.

The Hotel is so lovely, decoration is amazing! The room was so big and the bed so comfortable, we slept good. The breakfast is great (a lot of options, fresh food). Wellness area is small but lovely and the swimming pool area is amazing, big and always clean. Good situation, close to the beach, Mercadona in front of the hotel and nice walk to Tarifa Town (few minutes driving).

We had a great stay at hostal Afrika. It is located in the beautiful old town of tarifa surrounded by little shops and great restaurants/cafes. The roof top terrace is simply amazing, the view breathtaking. The interior of the Hostel is very colorful and well thought out. The owners of the Hostal are so welcoming, friendly and very helpful. We had to find something at the last minute for 2 nights in Tarifa, and El Asturiano was the perfect combination. Just outside the old town walls (where there are all the restaurants, shops and night pubs in Tarifa), but also outside all of the noise. Room is in perfect condition and good for a comfortable stay. Staff was really good and friendly!

All the staff were friendly and helpful. The view from the roof terrace, across the straits to Africa, is arguably the best in Tarifa. The rooms are fairly bijou but very acceptable. The location is slightly below the new town but elevated above the old town, which is only a few minutes walk away.
