I had very little interaction with staff, but what I had was very enjoyable and efficient
Located in the center of the city, the 4-star Hotel Torremangana borders the Júcar river, next to the old town. Perfect place to walk, relax or play sports.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Torremangana. The check-in was quick and easy with the helpful concierge. There was a secure place for us to park our bicycles in the garage. Our room was large and had everything we needed, including a little refrigerator. The bed was very comfortable and the whole room was very clean. There is also a restaurant connected to the hotel. The location of the hotel is great too. It's right by the park and the walking bridge over the river is nearby too. An uphill walk of just a little over a kilometer will get you to the cathedral in the old town.

The place is accessible from the main road - at first, the navigation lead us through small roads in the forest - avoid them in case you are lead the same (wrong) path :)
It was quite cold outside but we had a thermostat in the apartment so we could heat the room up.

Spotlessly clean. Very basic but cleanest we've seen.
The fortressed town of Cuenca is a hidden gem in the province of Castilla La Mancha and is a popular destination for tourists visiting Madrid or Valencia.
Cuenca is best represented in its medieval old town as well as the unique Hanging Houses (Las Casas Colgadas) which stand aloft on one of the deep canyons surrounding the city, and show a prime example of the common housing of 15th-century Cuenca.
Upon visiting the Old Town you will be welcomed by the remains of an ancient Arab fortress, El Castillo along with the chiming bells of Mangana Tower.
There is a variety of art galleries and restaurants which are situated in the newer side of town, whilst popular places to see are the Cuenca Cathedral, Museum of Spanish Abstract Art and the Archaeological Museum.
Booking.com offers a wide range of accommodation options near landmarks such as Cuenca train station and Parque de San Julián.

Such an unusual and interesting, old town with plenty of cobbled streets to explore. The museum showing finds through the ages was worth visiting. The highest point of the town has great views across the gorges and some great cafes. The hanging houses are insanely tall.

Cuenca old town is a must in any Spain trip.
Cuenca old town is a must in any Spain trip. We were so fortunate to experience Holy Week festivities and to share with the locals. In addition, we experience intermittent snow which was a wonderful experience. The old town is a jewel with many options to get lost through the streets and to meet locals.

I like to see old historic cities ...even if the "glory days" are over. Cuenca does not disappoint on this count. The cathedral is a magnificent example of this as it is beautifully decorated in parts and equally shows evidence of being somewhat dilapidated structurally..in certain parts.
The "hanging house' theme is a little overworked but it is still very interesting to see what is left of them.
It's sheer geographical location is what surprised me most. The public transport system up and down between the new and old town is very efficient.
I stayed 2 nights...I could easily have stayed 3 to have 2 full days to explore a little more...assuming you can manage the walking...it is rarely flat...you are either climbing or descending usually and it's often quite steep!
I ate at the Piola Gastrobar, which shares the building with the Hotel Convento just up from the main Plaza Mayor. An excellent restaurant in my opinion.

Absolutely wonderful.
Absolutely wonderful. Breakfast was excellent.Dining room was nice, but why would anyone eat there when they will serve you in the beautiful courtyard by the fountain! Pool area is nice, and staffed with a lifeguard. Helpful hint: request a room with a bridge view. We did, and it was gorgeous.

Beautiful historic buildings in stunning scenery.
Beautiful historic buildings in stunning scenery.
Lovely walks especially along river.
Everything in old town close together with regular bus service for other parts of town.
Free parking in Castle area.
Everything was fantastic. The place is perfectly situated in the old town of Cuenca. You can walk everywhere. The views are spectacular. The flat is very well appointed, clean, with a modern kitchen and bathrooms.
The hosts are the best I've ever had in all of my years of travel - 30+. They really care about your comfort.
It is extremely secure. We felt very taken care of and the hospitality exceeded expectations.
This town is absolutely amazing. A must see!
This is a small hotel, a rebuilt historic site inside the historic centre of Cuenca. The rooms are special with visible beams on white plastered walls and ceilings and tiled floors. But be aware the doors in ancient times were small - so bow your head to the former masters -or else :-)! As an added bonus they let us in with our dog, which in Spain is often a problem.
Lovely historic hotel. The balcony view of the cliffs, bridge, hanging houses etc is absolutely worth the extra money. The food was delicious at breakfast with many fresh options. The dinner was divine & it was truly painful to not be able to eat every delicious morsel. Definitely see this breathtaking place & enjoy the scrumptious cuisine
Great 'boutique" hotel an easy drive into Cuenca. Comfortable, quiet room with separate sitting area and your own private "yard" and you can pull up your car right next to the room. Tasty, ample breakfast brought right to your room. Adequate closet/drawer space. You'll need to let the hotel know slightly ahead of your arrival.
Best accommodation so far. Quiet, Spacious, heater comes on in mornings, Inside old city, 7min walk to supermarket. Very close to amazing walk by river. Host supplies shared kettle, toaster and fridge which is very handy.
Cuenca is my favourite spot on my trip, a photographers dream spot. 12 euro taxi to train station
Excellent hotel and service. Great view from the room. Short distance to good restaurants. A full size bath in bathroom. Comfy bed, very clean and also pet friendly. Good selection of breakfast choices. Only stayed a night on route to Madrid, would love to return and stay longer. Great value for money.
This apartment had all the luxuries of home. Extremely well appointed in a quiet neighborhood, within walking distance to most major places of interest. A very lovely apartment with an extremely helpful host.
Cuenca is a phenomenal city and very close by train to Madrid.
The old building is stunning and it felt like a privilege to be there. The atmosphere is amazing, the location is perfect and the hotel rooms are 5 star luxury. It's also the cleanest place I've ever stayed in. It's worth visiting Cuenca just to experience this hotel
A perfect Hotel when visiting Cuenca, with its proximity and facilities.
All of the staff were helpful and polite, parking facilities very good, and restaurante food excellent.
We will most certainly return for another stay.
VERY cool building - former college dormitory - lots of character. Excellent staff and location to walk within old town Cuenca. Very scenic spot. Would definitely stay there again. Quiet and safe area.
The property's keeper met us on arriving and gave all needed recommendations - and all of them were very useful.
We also got the application with description of the Cuenca's area on the phone.
Location was perfect
It was one of the best experiences I ever had
Facilities were fabulous, staff was incredible hospitable, service amazing
I will recomend property to everyone
Beautiful located Hotel just outside of Cuenca, children friendly and in a natural environment. The patio was really nice but unfortunately the pool was not open.
Very nice hotel with underground parking for our motorbikes. Not too far to walk to see main sites, very good quality for reasonable price, stayed in April.
Excellent location just in front of the postcard of the Cuenca; beautiful hotel; delicious cocktails at the old cloister; excellent attendance at the bar.
