For the city in general, more English speaking would be better for the city, but it’s understandable why they wouldn’t speak as much English compared to other cities. Regardless I really enjoyed my stay and people were friendly and good hearted in general, I recommend anyone to take a visit when possible.
It’s very simple to get around via public transport. The food is good and there is a lot to choose from.

The city was bigger than expected with a lot to do. The Palace was a museum/gallery rather than a traditional palace and I would highly recommend climbing the tower stairs! Lots of other museums, churches and gardens etc or there are loads of places for shopping.

There's a youthful college-town vibe to the cafes and bars downtown; the city is flat so it's easy to walk everywhere, the Natural History Museum is not to be missed if you like that sort of thing, public transport is better than most, very good restaurant scene

It is in a beautiful location in the Schwarzwald.
It is in a beautiful location in the Schwarzwald. The hotel is in a quiet location though a five or so minute walk from the hauptbahnhof. If zoos are your thing there is one literally across the street. The location is well connected with busses, trams, and trains. You can see so many surrounding towns this way. Either get a land ticket (regional trains) or a day ticket (bus and trams).
I would visit again Karlsruhe again.

Karlsruhe is a modern city with a Palace which is now a good museum. The grounds are lovely as are the gardens at the zoo. Karlsruhe is a good place to stay for day trips to Baden Baden and Heidleberg.x
I was for a 1 week business trip. The staff is available on phones for answering any inquiries. They comes daily to check the facility. You will find everything you need. The kitchen and bathroom are well equiped and hygienic. In brief, I feel at home!!
Another super positive aspects are : The Rewe supermarket is directly in front of the hotel. Also, one can reach the downtown and all transportation in couple of minutes.
I highly recommend it for solo travelers who are looking for a nice deal for a long time.
We had an issue with some of the stocked items in the room and they were replaced immediately. The items from the minibar were free. The breakfast was delicious. The pillows were comfortable. The decorations are Karlsruhe-themed and make a nice bridge between the historic building and the now modern city. We had a larger room with a sofa and the baby crib (provided by the hotel) and plus our own stroller fit in nicely with space to spare. It was clean.
The rooms are quiet, although a little small for our expectations. The rooms were made up daily. Towels are restocked on a daily basis. The pin-based entry and remote check-in are a definite plus. The biggest advantage is they do not charge for the parking which is a covered parking area. The access to and from the city to the hotel is also great, even if you are using the tram or ICE. both the stations are just 5 minute's walk away.
The hosts are very hospitable, it can be felt by the amount of small things prepared - cleanliness, well laid out things, coffee capsules, tea, laundry detergent, etc. The owner also provided a cot for our four-year-old daughter. We were driving through Germany to France and this place turned out to be very good for an overnight stay.
We have stayed before at the Ibis - it is the location which is great as we can catch a tram to our daughter's flat from outside the front door! And we can get to the station so easily from where we have taken many trips thanks to the local ticket offer. We did not need to use any restaurant facilities at the hotel.
I really liked the value for money. As some former customers pointed out in their reviews, the room and toilet interior is a bit vintage but has its charm. Also, I liked TV programs offered, for example, there was a channel which broadcasted some documentary films on German life in 70s and 80s.
Clean, warm and covenient. Clear instructions to collect key from keybox.
A very good place for our stopover while driving through Germany. Plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. Parking on the street was no problem and petrol station only 3 minutes away.
Would definitely stay again
It is a comfortable hotel with a nice, calm and darker interior and committed staff. Not too far away from the train station (unless you have heavy luggage). Breakfast excellent. Offers bike renting. Quiet and safe area. Reception open late night. Would visit again.
Lovely hotel, luxurious family room. Very comfortable beds.. Coffee/tea facilities in the room and a nicely decorated lounge/bar/restaurant area downstairs. Private parking. Great hotel to have stayed overnight on our way to Austria!
Good location for short business trip.
Friendly staff, decent breakfast, clean room.
The only weekness is the WiFi, too slow means less speed.
All the best, I will always choice this hotel for trips to Karlsruhe.
Great location for a one night stop / close to motorway. Great hotel, comfortable, spacious and beautiful rooms. Great breakfast options and very good communication with staff. Big parking in front.
