We stayed over Christmas, visiting a relative who lives there. I found the German Christmas a much quieter and rather nicer season than the UK version. Of course we loved the Christmas markets, and went to the opera. It’s an easy place to get around walking or on the trams.

Great little town with lots of history surrounding it..you can see the original city wall from the 14th hundreds...I think it was build around 1425...if you have a car everything/town is easy to reach. Lots of castles and other historic sites are not to far to drive to.

Darmstadt is a great location as it sits on two main autobahns, so getting anywhere in Germany is easy. Especially in Hessen. Its a big enough town to have all the conveniences, shops , restaurants etc.

It was one of the few hotels I found in Darmstadt which is within the budget paid by my employee. The room and large bathroom were clean, the staff very friendly and helpful, the bed was very good. The breakfast (which is 12 Euro) is worth the money for sure - I just say "frische Spiegeleier, lecker!" - and add: good coffee, tasty rolls, good cereal selection and friendly staff again.

We really enjoyed the room, it was clean and spacious, and we had a great breakfast too which was complimentary. Upon check in we also receiced a complimentary drink free of choice at the Bar which was a plus too. The Hotel was easily reachable in less then 10 min walk from Darmstadt HBF, and another 17-18 minutes from Frankfurt HBF, where we attended the Fair. Overall a great stay and reccomended for other travellers.
