This place is just PERFECT! A quiet oasis in rainforest! It is our favorite accommodation after 3,5 weeks in Costa Rica. Doug is super friendly, such a great host. A warm welcome. The property is so beautiful. You can see that they have an eye for details. All the trees, flowers, birds… just lovely. Our villa had beautiful views, we even saw a sloth! The villa is well equipped, clean and super comfortable. The complimentary Costa Rica coffee is a nice bonus. It’s the perfect place to explore the region, but also to chill, for example at the beautiful pool. Thank you so much!!

Everything. The grounds are lovely with casitas situated along garden paths and streams. There are also rooms around the pool that provide more options. The breakfast was delicious. The staff extremely helpul and nice. We enjoyed using the pool after the beach. There's a number of good restaurants nearby. We really loved being there and will definitely be back!

The property was beautiful. A small, intimate property where we got to watch monkeys in the palm trees and the ocean from our bed. It was wonderful. The food was great - the restaurant served a great selection and breakfast was perfect. Eddie was a star on reception and in the restaurant. It couldn’t have been better.

Ojochal is a great base location to explore the Uvita area beaches and the Sierpe mangroves to the south. Lots of area waterfalls, beaches, attractions, and restaurants. True Costa Rican rainforest and animals along with world class beaches and waterfalls make it the best of everything Costa Rica offers.

Go and watch the fish being unloaded at the “Fish Shop” sign just below Paraiso Azul - birds up close and a range of fish.
It’s only a 40 min drive, on a good road, to Sierpe for a 3 hour river trip - loads of wildlife. Completely recommended

This town is one of the most peaceful and beautiful that we’ve visited in Costa Rica. It also has great restaurants and really nice people. Nice for a couple with no children for a little R&R and great food.
Best food in CR. Sud is great if you want great food and live music or dance lessons (not sure which nights). Other restaurants we loved included Heliconia, Fusion, Kua Kua for the stunning view, Terraba and Mamma e Papa.
Go to Playa Tortuga for a long walk or mellow beach visit and to see the scarlet macaws. Visit Playa Ventanas - more families, people playing, vendors, music. Far more lively than Tortuga.

We had a very nice family stay with trips to the beaches...
We had a very nice family stay with trips to the beaches nearby and the kids enjoying the pool with gorgeous sea view in the afternoons. Precious garden, quiet surroundings except for few extra loud trucks, cosy rooms and a very well equipped kitchen. I loved the open air shower and the daily visits from a funny shy duck!!
The supermarket at walking distance is much bigger than it seems.
Very family-friendly, in midst of nature with a stunning garden and flowers, with a nice pool. Service is excellent and the owners and staff are very friendly. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. The hotel is at 15 minutes from Uvita, at 15 minutes from the beach (with special rock formations, geysers and a playground for children), and at 30 minutes from a stunning waterfall. There are free merengue and salsa classes on Friday evenings. It is with pleasure that we will stay there again.
A lovely, comfy and quiet place with a beautiful view, spacey room and bathroom, homemade breakfast, a little pool and a quite intimate atmosphere with only a few rooms and most amiable hosts.
We had a great time here, missed nothing.
The place ist within 5-15 min driving distance to a few really good restaurants and 20 min from the nearest beach. So you definitely need a car if you choose to stay here. And you shouldn't bei afraid of dogs, as they have 4 (really friendly ones) of them.
This was the sweetest place we stayed in Costa Rica. Claire is a great born-to-be host! Outgoing, helpful and fun to spend time with. Claire priovided a list of close-by restaurants, which alas we did not have time to experience. She provided fabulous breakfasts; her finely landscaped property was abundant with flowers, fruits birds, and monkeys. The cabins were adorable with a comfortable bed, well-appointed kitchen and hot shower. Definitely would return to Hotel El Mono Feliz!
We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. After 3 nights in a basic cabin in Osa, this was almost luxury. The cabin was well-equipped, very comfortable, cool (without using the AC), and at canopy level with great views of the surrounding trees. We were on the edge of Ojochal, very quiet, and the garden was really a rainforest experience. The pool was particularly pleasant and attractive, surrounded by garden, and we spent a fair amount of time there (which we normally don't do).
The hotel is a dazzling blue color which gives it the feel of a house high on a promontory overlooking the Aegean. But the view is the wide Terraba river as it ebbs and flows with tides into the South Pacific.
The beautiful views show Drake Bay where the English pirate roamed, the Corcovado wilderness, and the wild thumbspot Isla Caño sitting on the horizon.
Good sturdy accommodations make this small blue lapis lazuli hotel perfect for an inspirational stay in Ojochal.
Perfect place for a relaxing break of our 1-month travel in Costa Rica! One of the best places we have been.
Easy communication with the owner Alain (online/offline).
Beautiful setting with a nice swimming-pool in a beautiful garden.
A well equipped (but expensive) Delishop and an excellent restaurant Citrus and a Belgium beer bar (about 10min.drive) are near by.
We wish you all the best to Alain and company!
Greeting from Sonja & Adrian

This is a must stay! The view from the hotel is absolutely stunning! The rooms were spotless clean, breakfast and dinner always tasty. But the best part is the staff and the management: they all were super friendly and helpful! It was so nice to see how the whole team interacted with each othet, it felt like a big family working together, having fun and helping out when needed!
On top of everything we got a free room upgrade!
Our stay at the apartments in Ojochal, Costa Rica, was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning surroundings and warm hospitality of the owner Kevin.
The apartments themselves were well equiped and clean.
The lush tropical garden and swimming pool an extra layer of charm to our experience.
Overall, our time in these Xotica was wonderful. Thank you again!
The villas were clean, bright and welcoming. Vanessa and Nicholas, who run the hotel, were kind and so so helpful. The breakfast made by Steven was delicious- every day! The location was perfect- nestled in the jungle and close to beaches. Monkeys, a cute dog named Lafayette and a cute cat named Frida were often seen running, sleeping or eating. It was heaven.
El Pulpo is a really nice place in nature with a lot of birds (tucans!) and monkeys around. The tents are very comfortable, spacious and modern. Loved the things they custom made, like the very handy closet. The area is very green and calm, but restaurants and the supermarket are still nearby. The owners are lovely and very helpful as well!
Beautiful, lush green cool oasis right off the paved road that runs through Ojochal. Sylvain is a lovely host and did many things that made our extended stay comfortable. He is around if you need him but there is complete privacy if you want it. Even with the easy access, the property felt safe. Good value for money.
The villa was a wonderful way to introduce friends to Costa Rica. Very clean and well stocked with needed items. The view is awesome. So close to Exotica Restaurant and the Uvita beaches. Isabell and her son were kind and helpful and communicated by Whatsapp as needed.
The small private pool was lovely and clean.
Villas en el Bosque is a small piece of paradise on the pacific coast, perfect to stay if you want to be close to Uvita but with more nature around you, lovely people, delicious breakfast, beautiful ocean view. The service and hospitality was very good, we really felt welcome and at home with a very relaxed vibe

This is an imaginatively designed little hotel made up of cute cottages in the jungle, but just steps through a passageway to a restaurant that would be a top choice (at twice the price) in any US or European city. The pool is idyllic. Super beaches nearby. Excellent value.
This place was so beautiful, that I was a little sad we didn't have more time in the home instead of exploring! We spent mornings on the back porch near the pool, watching nature while having coffee, same with dinner at the big outdoor table. Plenty of space inside
We liked everything about this place. The accommodations are wonderful with a beautiful view into the forest. The owners are super friendly and make everything so that you have the best time in or around Ojochal.
Location close to National Park, and beaches, a short drive to Uvita..Owners very attentive and courteous.
AC was needed and works great ! Enjoy some down time and unplug.
