Mudgee is an attractive country town surrounded by vineyards and has a lot of significant history. It’s a short distance from Gulgong, which is a must see if you want to understand the history of the area. It has probably the best museum in the country and a brilliant photographic museum too. There are not many towns with an opera house!

Accommodation was easy to find and very comfortable.
Accommodation was easy to find and very comfortable. It was an easy walk round town to shops, eating facilities, coffee, pub, club, art centre,
We visited winery not far out of town and experienced a wine tasting complete with hampEr and we bought other delicious goods on offer. We have been buying wine from this winery for more than 30 years so was terrific to go back and meet the new owner and see it again for old times sake.
The Arts and Crafts Centre at the Railway Station has a collection of beautiful items. Trip to Gulgong, not so far away was a blast from the past with old wares shops and museum.

I love Mudgee for the diversity of things to do and see. Plenty of places to enjoy a drink, meal and generally catch up with friends and family.
We dined at Kelly's Irish Pub which was building up for St Patrick's day celebrations.
Started one morning at Elton's Bar and Bites, and was not disappointed with the quality of food on offer.
Attended the annual foot crush at Robert Steins winery follow by sampling some of their award winning fine wines at their cellar door.
Wrapped up the day with scrumptious Asian / Aussie cuisine at the Woolshe pub watching games on the bug screen.

Mudgee is a great area to visit.
Mudgee is a great area to visit. There is plenty to do and there are cafes, restaurants and pubs that all offer great coffee, food and drinks. The surrounding area is great to explore and the views are excellent.
It's a short walk from the motel into Mudgee CBD and there are restaurants close by. The motel also has a restaurant attached, breakfast is also available either in your room or the restaurant. We did a morning winery tour, afternoon and whole day tours are also available and you're picked up from your accommodation.
The hotel is centrally located and has an old world charm. It is close to restaurants and shops, yet it's in a quiet street. It has a lovely large verandah upstairs with city and mountain views where guests can enjoy and relax.
The room was beautifully furnished, well appointed and very comfortable bed.
Absolutely beautiful property with a spotless clean cottage that contained everything needed for a relaxing and peaceful stay.
I would recommend this boutique accommodation to anyone staying in Mudgee. The gardens are beautiful and the river at the back of the property is just another bonus.
I had great time staying at Horatio hotel. It exceeded my expectations. The room was very clean, bed was super comfortable, it was quiet and very relaxing. The staff is nice too. They provide all the basic amnesties. I highly recommend Horatio to anyone planning on staying in Mudgee.
We were in Mudgee to play in the Mudgee Golf course Veterans week of golf. The accommodation was located across the road from the course. The unit was spacious, well appointed, with a comfortable bed and digital entry - which saved us having to carry keys when we ventured out.
Great location, easy to check in / check out, had everything we need and lots of space. The pool was lovely and was very quiet even though it is a shared pool with 2 or 3 other villas onsite. A great experience and recommend this place for a stay in Mudgee.
The hosts were simply wonderful. I am so grateful for the excellent, friendly, quick, and extremely helpful support that they provided. If we return to Mudgee we will make this our first choice for accommodation, without a doubt!
Superbly renovated property right in the centre of town a short stroll to all amenities. Nearby pubs, restaurants and groceries. Interior decor was exceptional and warm inclusive of everything you need in an apartment and more.
The Woolpack Hotel is exactly how it is stated. Above a great pub with great food and atmosphere. I can see that it could get loud in the rooms staying on a busy night but as I was there on a Wednesday it was perfect.
Suited our group of 8 adults with 4 good size bedrooms. Clean & comfortable. Wine tasting was next door as well as cheese tasting near by. Nice walk into town centre. Friendly & helpful owners. Would stay there again.
The room was huge, far larger than the photos indicated. Facilities were clean, and certainly as fancy as you'd expect for a Hotel labelling itself as boutique. The staff were very friendly, and very helpful.
Cottage was cool on arrival as hosts had put air conditionaing on, there was milk margarine and condiments for breakfast. Cottage located central to shops and restaurants everything was excellent.
We chose to stay in this hotel again as the room we stayed in was spotlessly clean. The hotel is in a great position- close to everything Mudgee has to offer. The hosts are friendly and helpful.
location - attending a wedding in mudgee and this was 5-10 mins away by car. on a Main Street near shops and cafes/pubs. beds were clean and comfortable.
