It felt right to spend a bit of money in Lismore because it was still reeling from the disastrous flood. It is very apparent that there is a strong community will to recover but it is also clearly a struggle.

There are some fantastic cafes open for business. The food at Dark Horse Espresso was fabulous. The locals are absolutely amazing and Lismore deserves a visit. There were lots of fabulous clothes stores in town.
Another fabulous place to visit is the Common People Brewery at Bangalow.

I would caution travellers to Lismore that not everything is open but what is open again is great and worth supporting. I would particularly recommend The Sherwood . I was relieved that great acomodation was available and happily surprised at the ease of booking and great standard I experienced. My only feedback would be to chance the resturant bookings online because it is disappointing to book a table and go to the resturant to realise it's not open yet. Then it was late for alternatives for a meal on Sunday night in Lismore Central.

Beautiful countryside and views amazing.
Beautiful countryside and views amazing. Lots to do and see and great to see the town recovering slowly from the floods. Had great cider and beers at Two Mates Brewery and very tasty meal at MaryG's Hotel.
The Saturday farmers Market was full of lots of yummy food and goodies.
Attended the Lantern Parade which was a great celebration of hope for the town.
The roads are still being repaired in some places so drive to conditions.

The general feel is a mix of hippies and drug addicts, some of the roads are terrible with massive potholes everywhere, the driving and parking skills of locals is a concern, - the place seems to be nice enough in the main areas but i think some of the locals ruin it, at night could hear car burnouts in the wet all nights, (likely stolen cars) and you can sense its unsafe, even the police have massive trucks, and that was just the day. and the road surface, especially on some of the back streets and roads out of town are huge and would cause alot of damage, alot of the council parks and areas seem trashed and neglected, pretty much had enough of the place after one day and there isn't anything that would draw me back

The area around Lismore is quite picturesque.
The area around Lismore is quite picturesque. The minor roads are of questionable surface quality, but make for a good adventure bike riding experience. Lismore itself is perhaps not all that exciting, but is a good base from which to enjoy its surroundings.
Fantastic spot and very reasonably priced. Became my favourite accommodation in Lismore after the first stay. Hosts are very welcoming, facilities are great, rooms are huge and all in all the house is a beautiful historic home that I would highly recommend - especially to those who like a bit of history and character in their accommodation and need a good night's rest. Will definitely come back.
Exceptionally friendly and warm hosts, including their cat Ollie. The room was spotlessly clean and had fresh fixtures and new and very comfortable bedding. Super fluffy and absorbent towels too. They are located a quick and easy drive from Lismore Base Hospital and a shopping centre with all the major stores. Highly recommend.
The warm hospitality and personalized service from the owners immediately made me feel at home.
The rooms were cozy, clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. The hotel also had a lovely courtyard and a nice pool,
Clean and easy to find. Quiet area and the beds were comfy. Definitely not a flashy place but fine as a base for our weekend in Lismore. Rooms were warm - was worried it was going to be cold but didn't feel the cold at all.
Was great to see a motel open in Lismore. Room was large, clean and tidy with a proper fridge and freezer which is so helpful when travelling. Very comfortable beds, good shower, would stay again.
Good location in the CBD of Lismore. The room was reasonably clean with comfortable bed. Regarding the service; even though we had hot water issue, the staff did their best to solve the problem.
Room and bathroom was immaculate. Staff was helpful. Wifi was good. The location was in Lismore, and that's an easy drive to the hinterlands and any an hour to byron.
Was impressed with the room for the price especially after staying at a hotel in Newcastle recently & it didn't have a tv,kettle or fridge. Would stay again
Nice private location and convenient for activities in Lismore. Waking up in the rural location is lovely looking across the paddocks with the livestock!
