Decent price for a good location but it really needs some updating. Even some minor updates would make a huge difference. The shower head had so much mineral deposit that the water barely came out, which is a cheap and easy fix. The comforters on the bed were actually pretty comfy and soft, but the sheet didn't even fit the mattress fully. Staff at reception and breakfast, same wonderful woman, made the stay. If she had not been so great, it would have been rough to stay there. There is a restaurant just downstairs and it's very close to the Abbey to visit. Parking for us was easy and we had no problems finding a spot nearby.

The Abbey is extraordinary and the surroundings are wonderful. The city is a whole story, full of a preserved history with great attention to detail. Very professional.
Was easy to get around, no problems. We think to plan another trip to Melk in the near future.

Very nice small town. We really enjoyed the Abby tour.
Very nice small town. We really enjoyed the Abby tour. We also enjoyed the old downtown and all the sites and stores. We were there during the Christmas holiday break so some stores and restaurants were closed but that did no deter us. Would like to visit in the spring and summer.

We only had to spend a Friday night in Melk but once arrived (although pretty late), we got out to take a walk. We were impressed by the tranquility of the old town's city center and had a very nice dinner at Venezzia Restaurant (if you don't have to, don't go to the bathroom there :)). We'll be back to visit the Abbey!

Melk abbey is spectacular and a must-see.
Melk abbey is spectacular and a must-see. The town is very pretty and a great place to wander around for an hour or two. There were some nice restaurants and bars, but many places were closed for the season (January). You can see the abbey and town in an afternoon, but there are other places in the surrounding countryside if you stay longer.

Stopped overnight at Melk to visit the Abbey and it was well worth it. Lovely old town with cobblestone streets and a great atmosphere, but the guided tour of Melk Abbey was the fantastic highlight. Saw Durnstein on the way and Schallaberg Castle on the way back to Vienna - both also well worth stopping.
We had an excellent experience. The room was very clean, we had a room with a gorgeous view. The hotel is in the heart of the city. The breakfast was very tasty, I felt like I was in France. The hotel has a private parking. The owners and the staff of the hotel were very nice and helpful, they explained to us what we must see around Melk,(like Spitz, Aggstein Ruine, Durnstein) how can we get their by bus or boat or car, where are the best places to eat, what we should visit.
We will definitely come back!
the location is superb, located in the town center, feeling relax and peaceful, different kinds of restaurants could be found near the hotel.
The hotel is right below the abbey. Wifi connection is stable, althought they don't have private parking, but there are many street parking places avaliable right in front of their hotel, free parking from 6pm to next morning 8am during weekday, and also free on Saturday afternoon and Sunday all day.
We booked one night because we wanted a place on our way from Vienna to Salzburg.
Not really expecting anything.
We got a beautiful and very large room that fit perfectly to or family (2+3).
the room was spot clean, the stuff was very friendly, there is a private parking and the location inside Melk is perfect.
We also had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was great!
Everything. The beds were comfy. It was easy to find and the location is just great. The view is spectacular- it’s underneath the Abby. It is in the middle of the town “Melk” which is a calm and quiet aesthetic place. The hotel was clean and historical. We would have loved to stay even longer! Ps: the warm shower and new facilities were huge impacts on the stay.
Mr. Berger the wonderful Man in Charge waited two hours when my train was delayed to let me in. He helped me when I had problems with another booking. Melk was one if the most wonderful travel experiences!!! Ask about his homegrown Grape Juice! Its Divine Nectar!!!
The hotel was very convenient, with a great view of the Abbey. The staff was very hospitable and welcoming. The restaurant was delicious and we enjoyed all our meals there. We were grateful for the air conditioning. The bed was comfortable and we had a great stay.
The location was perfect, 1 minutes from the autoroute, and it was easy and simple to get access on foot to the abbay and the city Center of Melk. The kitchen of the hotel was very high-quality, with very tasty local product. The breakfast was delicious.
The host was very nice and helpful. Rooms and the open areas were also great. Located in the center, near several restaurants and with a direct view to the Abbey of Melk. A fridge in the room or on the property would have been nice to have.
Staff were friendly. The location was excellent and the room was warm, cosy, comfortable and clean. I travelled with my dog and the hotel and cafe has a very dog friendly attitude. The breakfast buffet was well stocked.
Hotel was very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. We arranged this place because we wanted to stay in a peaceful and comfortable place in our way to Germany. This was a great stop to relax :)
This was a wonderfully clean and well maintained place to stay. We were directly below the great Abbey. Everything in the town is within walking distance. The staff was very receptive and helpful.
Clean simple room in city center. Walking distance to Melk Abbey and many cafes and restaurants. We enjoyed overnight stay with self check -in and parking infront of the property.
