Located in the heart of Waikiki, 2 minutes' walk to Waikiki Beach, Halepuna Waikiki is a luxury boutique hotel surrounded by shopping and dining. This hotel has a great location, close enough to the action without compromising relaxation. Every time I walked through the door it was like entering an oasis of calm. They had my room ready 3 hours ahead of check-in and everything I needed was just a call away.

Located in Kailua-Kona, 400 metres from Honl’s Beach, Kona Tiki Hotel provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and barbecue facilities. great location right on the water clean well equipped rooms with beach towels body board, fins etc available yo use at no cost *** Best of all property is run by 2 people who really care about their hosts . Michelle went above and beyond to take care of me and ensure that my stay was perfect. They really care about their guests. Treated better then at some 5 star resorts. I will be back.

Located in Keaau, 20 km from Lava Tree State Monument, Ocean Breeze Inn provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and barbecue facilities. We liked the very clean rooms, the space was just enough for the two of us with two big suitcases. Also the balcony was a big plus and nice to hear the ocean sound. Check-in was flexible and easy, which is something we appreciated as we arrived rather late that night. Andy is a very welcoming host, he gave us tips on the area and explained to us how to use the washing machine etc. Would recommend this place !!

Offering a garden and mountain view, Coffee Garden is set in Captain Cook, 6.9 km from Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park and 7.4 km from Kealakekua Bay. We had a fantastic stay! We got welcomed with fresh papayas and avocados from the garden. The property is very nice and for us in the perfect location as we were not looking for the touristy sites. Close to fantastic snorkeling spots!

Volcano Eco Cabin Retreat is a chalet situated in Volcano, 16 km from Kilauea and 9.6 km from Volcano National Park's entrance. This “cabin/lodge” is amazing! We stayed in the “lodge”, so cannot comment on the smaller “cabin”. We were there for 6 days, and had a huge storm/ hurricane for 2 days. We had solar power with propane heat and stove when everyone else had no power. All stores, hotels, Volcano National Park all closed down. We loved the huge windows to watch the rain and wind. The king bed and soft duvet and pillows made sleeping so cozy. We enjoyed the good WiFi with Netflix before the storm brought it all down. Loved listening to the coqui frogs at night and counted 12 different bird species during the day. Shower had plenty of hot water. Purified rain water was the most delicious water we’ve ever had.

Situated in Kailua-Kona and only 8.9 km from Kaloko-Honokohau National Historic Park, Hale Hualalai features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Amazing stay! I highly recommend anyone staying in Kona wanting an incredible experience to stay here. Ricky and his wife are both extremely friendly, kind and hospitable people (as well as both being great cooks). The destination (10 min drive from town up into the hills) provides the most beautiful views of the ocean and surrounding landscape. The room was immaculately clean and much bigger than I had originally thought going by the photos. We utilised the breakfast option and were treated to a variety of delightful breakfasts along with the best coffee I had drunk in Kona that they make with their own beans. The view whilst eating there is as good as it can get as well. Could not have enjoyed our stay more here and if we go back to Kona we will certainly be staying at Hale Hualalai with Ricky. Set within a tropical rainforest, this self-catering accommodation is located in the town of Volcano on Big Island, Hawaii. Alii Kane Cottages is a gem in the jungle. The place is really nice and staying there highly recommended. We especially liked the BBQ in front of the apartment.

Located 12.5 miles from Ahalanui Park in Pahoa, Hawaii, this bed and breakfast offers garden views and a free continental breakfast complete with homemade bread and jam. A full breakfast is $15. We had a wonderful stay at the Tropic Inn! Irene, the owner, is an amazing host, you can really feel that for her running this B&B is a dream come true. Every morning she prepaired a delicious breakfast with fresh fruit from her tropical garden, Kona Coffee, homemade marmelades, juice etc. She also served other local products like bread and yogurt. She gave us a LOT of really good tips, as she knows the island like a true Hawaiian or maybe even better... The room was very big and clean, the beds were comfortable and the shared bathroom was also perfect. Towels were changed really often, as there is a lot of humidity, but there was no bad smell at all, which was great being in the middle of the jungle. You can park the car in front of the house (yes, you definitely need a car to move around!!!) and wifi was working really good. The Tropic Inn is close to the last lava flow, which ist very interesting to see ("end of the road" nearby...). It is a really good location to visit the Vulcano national park and Hilo, amongst others. We definitely recommend this accomodation and wouldn't want to stay elsewhere on Big Island (we know, we have to come back;-))
