They provided us with all of the information we needed in relation to hikes and food also. The rooftop bar and pool is incredible.

It is spotless clean. I would describe it as luxury rural tourism at its best. The location is great, you could sit by the pool all day and look at the mountains and bananas. Its a good position in almost the centre of the island for exploring. Good restaurants and one levada with tunnels around also. And finally, ladies who work there are awesome. They do an amazing job and make you feel like at home. They helped us with everything and for us they made this stay completely fantastic. I travel a lot and this was my top three stay ever. The newly renovated 4-star Hotel Baía Azul is ideally situated a 4-minute walk from Funchal’s beachfront. It offers 3 swimming pools, 3 restaurants, a Spa and a sun deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the gardens. Wonderful and caring staff, my left at reception suicase was taken to my room when room became available, they have lockers in spa I had room with balcony _ walk outside thru to the pool., pool area is lovely, towels are comfy Inside pool is right temperature, just open doors for fresh air
