The place is comfortable, clean and in a convenient location but it's the owners that made it such a good stay. Room was very clean and tidy and staff were friendly and helpful. Big shoutout to Jorge who was our lovely receptionist, maintenance man, cleaner, and server. He was kind enough to unlock our room at 9:30pm after I accidentally locked us out. Hotel is along a major trucking route, but the hotel makes this very clear and it wasn’t a surprise. Pretty much everywhere along this route has been affected by the Tren Maya construction. Noise was covered up by A/C which was awesome. Private parking is a great bonus. Such a cute place and great access to Calakmul. We also loved the covered patio and spent evening out there listening to the crickets.

Hostal Otoch Beek is located in Becan, 102 km from Calakmul archaeological site and 8 km from Xpujil, the main town.

Free private parking is available and the inn also offers bike hire for guests who want to explore the surrounding area. Very comfortable and private casita albeit rustic and was wonderful place to stay while exploring the area. We felt like part of the family and were probably the only tourists in this tiny town. We loved the family, especially the mother Lucy and her husband. They were so welcoming and friendly! She asked us what we wanted for dinner and when we wanted to eat and then cooked us a big delicious meal with meat, beans, rice and veggies. We were really hungry after visiting the eco park and cenotes nearby. She also made us breakfast and cut fruit including mango and oranges from their trees. We wished our Spanish had been better so we could communicate more with them. Her grown son and daughter were also very kind.
