The host Mina and her mom are very kind and offer great service! Mina is fluent in English and always tries her best to make sure I enjoy the stay. Stayed in the single room, the actual room size is bigger than it looks in the picture. Big wardrobe for storage. Complimentary breakfast is great and comes with a wide variety of drink options, but the portion might not be enough for people who normally eats a lot. The place is super convenient with a free shuttle bus stop right across the street, making it very easy to get the train station, GALA and Ishiuchi.

This was one of the best stays I’ve had in Japan. The lodge is very cosy and clean, and in the most convenient location if you’re planning to ski. It is right next to Shiga Kogen Ski Resort, and there is free shuttle bus that takes you to GALA and Ishiuichi in just 10-20 mins. Mina and her mum were wonderful hosts, warm and very helpful. They really took care of us and were so hospitable ☺️ The cafe downstairs is fantastic. Highly recommend having breakfast there. It is simple yet delicious, taste of Japanese home cooking. Desserts are quite special and a must try!

The location is opposite to the Yuzawa Kogen ski resort. If getting the bus from Gala Yuzawa, just find the route that will pass Yuzawa Kogen and tell the bus driver. Share bathroom is not the problem. Recommend to stay here.

Situated in Tokamachi and only 13 km from Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort, 古民家宿Tani House Itaya -セルフチェックイン features accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. Old house with not simply vintage style but real details. Love all the furniture and the wood stove at first sight. Nobu welcomed us with some nice herbal tea. She speaks fluent English and we had some nice conversations. She also recommended and gave us a ride to a nice public bath. What we cherished most is the special visit to Mr. Kawanaka, the local artist. It’s our pleasure to meet him and appreciate his artwork. Truly memorable journey. Thank you!

Iro is located in Sado. There is a dining area and a kitchen complete with an oven, a microwave and a toaster. The accommodation offers an air conditioning, a heating and a shared bathroom. Amazing traditional stay. Good location! Felt like a really cool authentic experience. It was off season and I was basically the only tourist around and had the whole place to myself!

Ideally set in the Ikenotaira Onsen district of Myoko, Yado Brodiaea is situated 31 km from Zenkoji Temple, 33 km from Nagano Station and 43 km from Suzaka City Zoo. The personal was super kind and always happy to help. Recomend taking their offer for a ride to places. Fair price and very easy.

Opened in June 2017, Guesthouse ORI ORI offers accommodation in Niigata, a 10-minute walk from Niigatadaigaku-Mae Station. This place was very cozy and beautiful. Near the college, but tucked back in a quiet corner. There was so much nice consideration put into everything. I especially loved having everyone's name on a board (I'm particularly bad with names), comfy slippers with your name on it, and the moto exchange!

Offering an open-air bath and mountain view, Muikamachi Hutte is located in Minami Uonuma, 17 km from Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort and 40 km from Naeba Ski Resort. Great staff and amazing chill vibes in the lounge. I really wished I stayed here longer! The breakfast was really nice and the private onsen can be booked with ease. Recommended and I will definitely visit again.

Situated in Myoko in the Niigata Region, 27 km from Nagano, Japow House features cosy rooms and an on-site bar. Japow is just what you need for ski vacation. Clean, confortable, very friendly stuff and great location. Not a fancy place. I highly recommend for families
