Absolutely the highlight of my trip. And funny enough, there was no other guests so I had the whole place to myself! The town is very cute and the house is just incredible. It had everything a person could ask for in an accommodation. Everything works perfectly. The design is very beautiful. The house is even more beautiful in real life. I will never forget it. I think I told Assi how much I loved it too many times :) Assi was the most helpful host, he was very friendly, curious to know about my trip, he even picked me up from the station when I unfortunately missed the train. And dropped me off to the bus stop when I wanted to visit the near village. I hope to visit it again in future. Thank you again, thank you very much.

Guest House Motomiya se encuentra en Nakatsugawa, a 20 km de Ōi y a 20 km de Parque de atracciones Enakyo Wonderland. Ofrece alojamiento con salón de uso común y parking privado gratis. Keiko is an excellent cook, turning out elaborate and delicious meals. The location was a great base for the hike from Magome to Tsumago.

Guesthouse Nedoko está muy bien situado en el barrio de Magome-juku, Nakatsugawa, a 21 km de Ōi, a 21 km de Parque de atracciones Enakyo Wonderland y a 42 km de Japan Taisho Village. The location is perfect! Magome is very special and it felt very unique sleeping here and being there at night with no tourists. The design of the hotel is also very nice. Everything worked perfectly and the staff was very kind and helped us with dinner reservations and with local recommendations. The Nakansendo trail to Tsumago was a highlight of our trip and I totally recommend spending a night/s here to do it :)

El Tajimi Guest House se encuentra en medio de la naturaleza, a 3 km de la estación de Tajimi, y ofrece un solárium y vistas al jardín. The interior decor is tastefully designed to every detail, surrounding nature is startlingly beautiful, and the host is warm and friendly.

El Guest House & Cafe SOY está rodeado de vegetación exuberante y se encuentra a 15 minutos en autobús de la estación de JR de Takayama. Hay conexión WiFi gratuita y aparcamiento privado gratuito. Nos sentimos súper cómodos con la hospitalidad y atención que brinda Tai-San. Una experiencia japonesa grandiosa en una casa tradicional, con habitaciones tradicionales, comida tradicional y un jardín precioso, que juntos comparten una armonía estética sin igual. Lo recomiendo ampliamente, Tai-San nos apoyo en llevarnos a cualquier punto que decidiéramos para iniciar nuestro día e iba por nosotros al terminar nuestras largas caminatas por Takayama.

El Auberge Hidanomori, inaugurado en 2022, se encuentra en unas colinas tranquilas, a 10 minutos en transporte desde la estación JR de Takayama. This place and the whole team were exceptional. The setting, the interior design, the nice beds, the onsen- like bathroom experience all adds up to a unique atmosphere. The staff is amazing , speak English well, and always ready to help or to drive us to takayama station (10 minutes drive). And i saved the best for last : the food is amazing. Toshi the owner is a trained chef and worked many years in Italy. This results in Michelin star quality food, including home made bread. The value for money -7000 yen for 5 course dinner- is really good (don't bother trying to go into the city, this is probably better anyway). We just found the wine pairing very interesting, but a bit pricey (13000 yen per person). But then again, lots of high quality imported wines served with a lot of passion. Absolutely recommend this place if you want to visit takayama. Just to be able to experience the best of auberge, book at least 2 nights.
