Excellent location - easy to walk into town. Excellent breakfasts with lots of choice. Avril and Neil were lovely - kind, friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome .

Offering an open-air bath and garden view, Highfield house bed and breakfast COLLINSTOWN is located in Collinstown, 20 km from Mullingar Arts Centre and 20 km from Mullingar Greyhound Stadium. The hosts were lovely and breakfast in their kitchen was amazing. My room & bed were large with firm pillows; I was able to open window to get fresh air; gardens were delightful and the deck was lovely to sit on and relax after a long days drive. Ensuite was a good size with strong HOT water. A small area in hallway was set up with T/C/S, with a jug of milk, biscuits and bottles of cold water available in a small fridge.

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Templemacateer provides accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. This is a hidden gem. We arrived in the evening to Dublin airport and wanted to drive an hour or so on our way to the westcoast before resting for the night. We are so happy we found this place on the quite Irish countryside. Great reception and welcome from the owner. The breakfast was great. Full Irish breakfast with bacon from the own farm.

Quietly situated, the family-run Shelmalier House is just 5 minutes’ drive from the town of Athlone. It features a sauna, free Wi-Fi, and free private parking. This place was wonderful. The owner Jim went out of his was to make us welcome and comfortable. There was glitch in our plans and Jim went out of his way to get it fixed fot us. It was raining and we got wet and cold-he brought us a heater.that warmed us up. He could not have been more helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend this place. 😀
