The owners were very friendly and extremely kind in meeting all our needs and requests. The place was new, spotless, tidy, well organized, comfortable and simply beautiful. We could use the kitchen, including oven, fridge and dishwasher, and our son could play on the huge lawn. We felt like at home

Quietly situated, the family-run Shelmalier House is just 5 minutes’ drive from the town of Athlone. It features a sauna, free Wi-Fi, and free private parking. This place was wonderful. The owner Jim went out of his was to make us welcome and comfortable. There was glitch in our plans and Jim went out of his way to get it fixed fot us. It was raining and we got wet and cold-he brought us a heater.that warmed us up. He could not have been more helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend this place. 😀

On the West bank of the River Shannon, Shannonside House is set within large, private gardens. Guests can enjoy home cooking and free parking, and Athlone's centre is a 5-minute walk away. Linda and her husband were very kind and welcoming! The place is very cozy, just outside the city centre in a calm neighborhood. Nice traditional breakfast!
