Located in the riverside village of Hemingford Grey, a 30-minute drive from Cambridge, the homely Thorpe Guesthouse features a garden lounge, free Wi-Fi in the public areas and free parking. I stayed at The Thorpe for over 6 weeks in "The Doghouse".  This space is essentially self-catered (sans laundry service).  The room was perfect, with a good sized bathroom, functional kitchenette area, comfortable bedroom, and direct access to the back garden. While the facilities were more than adequate,  the real highlight of my stay was the friendliness and kindness of Stuart and Niki.  They regularly went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable.  Regular cooked breakfast was a highlight of my day during the stay, and I'd stongly recommend this accommodation if you are looking for lodging (long or short) in the Hemmingford Grey area.

A 6-mile drive from Huntingdon, the award-winning The Blue Cow in Fenstanton offers high-quality bed and breakfast in a 1-bedroom cottage. Felt very private and secure, I didn't feel the need to lock anything when going out. Even though the breakfast was self cooked during covid, the ingredients provided were ample and of good quality. Great kitchen facilities too.

Situated in Wood Walton and with University of Cambridge reachable within 47 km, Dog and castle features concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a terrace. Love the eco ethos. Staff were so lovely. Breakfast was lush.
