A recently renovated property, New Rooftop Penthouse with Oceanview is located in Santa Maria near Praia António Sousa, Praia de Santa Maria and Ponta da Fragata Beach. This beachfront property offers access to a terrace, darts, free private parking and free WiFi. The property is soundproof and is set 500 metres from Parish of Our Lady of Sorrows. Robert is a truly wonderful host! He made us feel welcome right away and offered to show us around Santa Maria. He helped us every day with any question we had. The apartment is really neat and modern, everything you need. Would definitely come again.

À la carte and continental breakfast options with local specialities, fresh pastries and pancakes are available daily at the bed and breakfast. Milanca was a wonderful host and was so interesting and helpful. Room was comfortable and a it was very restful watching the ocean from the pool area.

For those times when you'd rather not dine out, you can choose to cook on the barbecue. This is the perfect place to stay if you want to get to know the real Sal and its people. The owners went above and beyond to make me feel not only welcome, but truly at home. The room was super comfy, and the food was always delicious (be sure to try one of Candida's secret recipes for dinner, if you get the chance). I was provided with all the help and advice I needed in order to explore the island, and Candida and Martin personally took me to places that only local people know about. If, like me, you prefer a quiet, remote beach over those crowed, touristy ones: there's a small one just a short bicycle ride away – although I usually opted for a walk through to beautiful steppe landscape to get there. If you prefer spending your days with the other tourists down in the south of the island: Santa Maria beach is only 20 minutes by bus – which may sound complicated at first, but is actually super fun and convenient (and it only costs 1 Euro). I could go on praising this place for two weeks (which is actually the amount of time I stayed), but I'll just stop here – not without saying: Thank you, Candida & Martin, for the wonderful time at kleine schweiz!
