Situated in Alajuela City, 31 km from Poas National Park, Alexander b&b features recently renovated accommodation with free WiFi and a garden. Patricia is really friendly, she came to pick us up from the airport and helped us find our bus the next day. She cooked us an amazing breakfast and was just very helpful and friendly throughout. The room is basic but it has all you need for a short stay. The bed is really comfy. I would definitely stay there again if I'm back in San José.

First off, the hosts were the loveliest people. they made incredible breakfast and made me feel at home instantly. They also helped me book tours which was wonderful. The facility itself was gorgeous, super comfortable and the bird watching was supreme.

Lajuela BnB & Hostel is set in Alajuela City, 30 km from Poas National Park, less than 1 km from Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium, as well as 8.2 km from Parque Viva. A real gem of a family run hostel. the owner is really welcoming and the place feels very secure. My room was super comfortable and clean; the bathroom is also clean with a great shower. and the breakfast is exceptional!

Located just 27 km from La Fortuna Waterfall, Sunset Inn provides accommodation in Fortuna with access to an open-air bath, a garden, as well as a shared kitchen. Ingrid and Isaias were really friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was the best breakfast and coffee I have had so far in CR. Of course the view was amazing as well and our A-frame had two queen beds, it was much bigger inside than I expected.

From the moment we arrived, and were greeted by the whole family; our stay was a highlight of the trip. We were treated with such care and attention and felt it was very personal to us. The little cottage we stayed in was in the garden…beautifully private and quiet. We loved hearing the birds in the bushes and trees next to the terrace. The cottage was spotlessly clean and kitchen, although small, very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and although no air con…the fan worked very well.

Situated just 32 km from Poas National Park, Casa del Suizo provides accommodation in Alajuela City with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. the owner is just adorable and very helpful! really nice to talk to her ! she organized the tour to volcan Poas for me with a great guide. excellent and big breakfast clean and good value for the price ! ideally located for the tour to volcan poas and close to the airport

Situated in Pital, Iguanitas Lodge provides accommodation with a public bath and an open-air bath. The property has pool and river views. We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It is a family run business and they are the nicest people. It is not a fancy resort but is comfortable and clean. The pool is a great place to cool off. They have a nice outdoor sitting area and a feeding station where a lot of birds come to feed. They also make good food.

Boasting a patio with garden views, an infinity pool and a garden, Villa Tucan can be found in Fortuna, close to Ecoglide Arenal Park and 3.9 km from La Fortuna Waterfall. This place is exceptional, we loved how quiet and peaceful it was, even though it was located right onto the main road to Arenal, which also makes it easy to get around, find taxis and even all services accessible by foot (market, restaurants, tours, etc.) We visited the city center of La Fortuna and oh boy we were relieved to get back to our place outside of all the noise and hassle, it’s exactly what we needed. We woke up every morning to the sounds of birds and the looks of the luscious gardens. The room was spotless clean and the beds very confortable. The place felt so private, well looked after and safe. The incredible swimming pool felt like it was all ours during our stay. Berenice, our host, was really helpful by booking transport for us and offering her help, answering quickly to any questions we had. We would recommend to anyone who loves to relax in between the adventures the area has to offer!

Some rooms include a seating area to relax in after a busy day. beautiful ambiance! actually it is in middle off town, but when you are sitting on nice balcony you think you are in middle off nature!
