Offering a restaurant and a bakery, Hirschen Wald is located in the village of Wald and features rooms with free WiFi. The location is exceptional, one a one lane road in the mountains of Appenzell. It was mid April but we had a lot of snow every day, but the roads were plowed and the hotel is very accessible, even in poor weather. The hotel is old but the interior is updated and the rooms are large, modern, and very clean. The food is excellent and they cooked two unique Swiss items for us that were not on the menu. The staff is exceptional.

Shared bathrooms are spotless! There is a fridge and coffee machine in the hallway… and terrace with the view too ! Location is perfect, easy 15-30 minutes drive to any major attraction or hiking route.

Such a lovely athmosphere built by Lise. I can’t wait to find some time and go back :) A wonderful breakfast served by Lise with a super cheap price. Amazing, tasty, fresh and healthy. Rhubarb jam made by Lise - out of this world. Thank you.

Just how one would imagine a typical Swiss village house. I regret that I didn’t spend more time in the area. Good breakfast. Clean and perfectly maintained. I will definitely go back.

The perfect location and superb views. We had the appartement in the ground floor and this was very clean, modern and big.

Featuring a garden and views of mountain, Gästehaus Krone is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Schönengrund, 19 km from Säntis. I have never stayed in such an amazing guesthouse in my life. It was like we were taken back in time. The host was amazing, the way she explained the history of the place made it very interesting. The room was very cozy, the overall house was beautiful. Also the area is very pretty, you could hike up to the hills. We wish we were there for more days. Definitely would love to stay there again
