They offered us a small kitchen and free tea. The common area gave us the opportunity to meet other people. Room was spacious and well heated. Even though the hosts didn’t speak English, they showed us lots of hospitality.

Had a great traditional feel to it. We loved it. It was perfect for visiting Takachiho gorge the next morning. Great location.
