From arrival, Kishaba-san went out of his way to invite me to the local Kyuubon celebrations over the next few nights, and while there he introduced me to his family and a couple others. When I left to Naha and stayed at another hostel, I felt surprised by how much more comfortable and welcome I felt staying at Kishaba. Amenities are suitable, location is great, facilities are wonderful. The bed is comfortable, spacious, and private. Above all though, staying here made my trip to Ishigaki that much more memorable.

If you want to experience the real Ishigaki life stay at Oceanos. The owners are wonderful. Jordy’s love for the outdoors and his knowledge of Ishigaki makes his tours even more special. Highly recommend guests to go on one or two of his tours. It is a bit far from the town but that was not a con for us. The drive through the farmlands was beautiful. We enjoyed eating outside on some nights while watching the beautiful sunset. There are a few delicious places to eat not far away, and local juice stands. The stargazing at night is SO AMAZING ! Thank you for everything Jordy!

This place is awesome. We stayed there shortly before Christmas and even though we where the only guests and the weather wasn’t the best that time it was just perfect. The breakfast is amazing and the beach is right next to the house. The rooms are super clean and have everything you need. The location is also very good to explore the whole of the island. I highly recommend getting a car but that is for everywhere in ishigaki.

Gon, the owner, greeted me personally, helped me to park my car and sat down with me to show me a map of the local area and give recommendations. He even made some suggestions for what to do on Iriomote Island when I went there after Ishigaki. Laundry facilities with drying space on site. A few restaurants and bars nearby - walkable.

The staff arranged pick up from the airport for us and also organized a private room for the one night we originally could only get dorm beds. The location is very quiet and green, as we were hoping for. It is possible to rent bikes for free and you can also rent a car there. The bed was comfy and we had a really nice view.
